Is your 20VT standard? not chipped at all?
What sort of miles are on it and what fuel do you run on? (Optimax?)

Ross, this seems to be a fairly common complaint on both standard and chipped cars, the trouble is if you have had it chipped (which exaggerates the problem as the boost back off is more noticeable) your dealer is going to blame that and not want to help.
Check out some of the other threads on flat spots in the Ibiza section to see what the causes may be. Most cars seem to grow out of it as the mileage increases (most common in the first 1 or 2 thousand miles), so by 4500 miles it should be OK but for some it remains an intermittant problem. Best take it back to AmD and see what they think. Please post their response here so we can see their opinions on what is causing it.

P.S. Running on at least Super Unleaded or preferably Optimax might help.

AmD are well known in these parts.
Well renowned VAG tuner of chips.
the problem you mention is quite common on this forum, and as yet not been identified yet either unfortunately. The MAF (mass air flow meter) has been reported on some Leon 20VT's are causing this problem, although the dealer 5051 diagnostic machines give a clean bill of health.
I am looking into it myself as I am intrigued, but my occasional flat spot has not been around lately. Maybe coinciding with running now on Optimax 98+ octane UL fuel, where I was running 95Ul previously.

Like Paul said, take it back to AmD and please report what they say back to us.

good luck
Bill
