We have just fitted the throttle body off of my cupra to the polo, swapping over the electronics as mine were shagged.
The car already has a full exhaust(de cat) and a custom CAI and maked 140bhp & 120lbf-ft which is pretty healthy already. Since fitting the bigger TB it's pulls a lot harder mid range and top end. It also sounds much meatier on idle.
My brother's looking at getting a 4-2-1 mani, maybe a set of cams then a map of Dastek unichip maybe??
Any suggestions on map & cams? or anything else.

how did you rig up a dbw throttle body to the polos engine?
i bought a dastek unichip for my old pug but i didnt like it..chunky feckers too

Not really. They are 125bhp standard! Just about every polo gti with an exhaust and filter makes at least 135bhp.
We took all the electronics out of my one because they were goofed(water damage) then fitted all the GTI stuff into it. Re-routed a coolant hose and moved something else can't remember what though i'll have to ask scott. The whole job took about 30 mins.
Tested it against a 172 clio & a modified CooperS both cars started in front by roughly 2 car lengths and stayed there until they bottled it.:D Really impressed with it.
4-2-1 manifold paid for last night so should be here next week.
shrick,kent or newman for cams.get stealth racing to map it,it would be rude to take the head off and not get it polished and ported,that will help it flow better and smoother.

I have 2 mates with these cars....they are nice (unless you have standard interior:wtf: )....they are quick ish...but the gearboxes are utter sh!te!!!! My mates have both had 3 new ones on each of their cars!

Scott's diff went last year at crail. :whistle:
Before the TB he was getting 15.6 as his best 1/4 mile.

Just spotted this one mate.
TBH I would probably avoid the Dastek "piggyback" and just have the original ecu remapped (Custom Code, Uperchips et al).
www.advancedautosport.com do loads of stuff for polos of all shapes and size cams, manifolds, rods, pistons etc etc
