I got a weird problem with the instrument lights on my Leon, I’ll try and explain without confusing you all!!!
Last night whilst driving home from Chesterfield my climate control buttons, radio display on dash and elec window switches all started flickering (dimmer set to V.dim). I messed with the dimmer and thy totally went blank, and the dials (speedo etc), radio and hazard button went bright and couldn’t be dimmed. Then all went normal………. Until I stopped at services for a pee.
When I restarted the car all went pear shaped again, until I got of the M1 and turned the lights off and on again, and all was fine once again till I got home..
Then, on the way to work this morning (again with the lights on full dim), the dials etc went bright and the others went off. To confuse things even more the Climate control display stays bright, but will go to full dim when the others turn off!!!
I assume the speedo and hazard warning switch is on a fail safe system, hence why it stays bright, but its highly annoying….any ideas???
