The Jabbasport IHI'd Ibiza lives :D
First new IHI breaths have been taken and the early signs are its going to be a tool and a half!
Small port head, fly by wire, all seem to make the little beastie a really nice package with a great punch.
Can't wait for a go.... and for mine to be done..
Roll on Alconbury. :D
300bhp is'nt going to be a problem at all from Mike's early results (;) ) from what is an incomplete package at the mo.
Woo hooo.
Gotta get me some of that...
:)

hehe...nice one.
GRRR! i want some of that too!
Dor
I wish i could afford... not the mod, but all the possible "extra costs" associated with such a high bhp conversion.
Bill, let me know when you get some facts and figures... eg. power output, acceleration/speeds, COST, etc.
I still want one of these!
Can't wait to see it at Alconbury later THIS week! :D

Yup that will certainly be some motorcar...
Although even if i do get a ride in it, it's a case of going back to your car and realising how slow it is!!!! ahhhh!

If Mike had to charge £10 for a go in it on Friday, he could probably make back the money he spent on it!
:D

...except that the petrol bill for a 300HP Beeza is prolly going to be masseeve!!!

For Friday, Mike should have the mapping better sorted.
It is not the full implementation of the package though.. and will be missing its charge cooler and runs an earlier non ball bearing IHI, so more lag is on this than there will be in full trim. New turbos of latest spec arrived shortly after he fitted the older one! DOH! Sods law eh?
Given it is'nt running its max capacity boost yet, and does'nt have its chargecooler on, its power firgures and torque delivery sounded very promising.. (Bill gets excited now :D)
I won't give the power level away, as its Mikes baby after all.
It will be "nice" though.
Scarey thing for Friday will be the Ibiza is still running on its 17" rims with really hard tyres, choppy suspension and stock brakes. (Brembo deliveries being as bad as ever!) - Me thinks point and squirt for the day.... Be prepared for some awesome acceleration though... Less than 1200Kg of car and 300+ bhp. :p
Cool..
Can't wait for mine. :)
regards
Bill

Hmmm.
there is a catch.
Drive it full chat and you will refill very often.
I did one session in Mikes Golf with 380bhp and it used nearly 1/2 a tank of fuel up(and the front brakes!)
My 190bhp Ibiza runs 9mpg on full chat round Combe so I would expect 1/2 that again perhaps with 300+bhp.
Drive legally and steadily and Mike says he gets high 30's even 40's to the gallen from his Golf.
I drive it for 15mins and use 1/2 a tank. Opps:rolleyes: Sorry Mike! It was so much fun!

Just got to think of a way to inject neat fuel into the rear of the backbox now....emmision controls who needs em!
Dor.
I got about 9mpg at Brunty with 4mpg being the lowest instantanious figure I have seen!!!
I really need to see how fast this car is... it'd be nice to get a standard Ibiza, a chipped Ibiza (eg. mine) and the Jabba Ibiza all alongside down teh straight at alconbury and watch how they all compare in straightline acceleration (Not from a standing start.).
Ben
You will have the chance to drive this 340BHP car at Alconbury

Well why dont we all give £5 towards petrol - not fair that you guys have to foot the bill for that as well as tyres!:D

It' called advertising m8...people get a ride they think 'I want' and that's why the ride is free.
Everyone wins...

Fair enuff. No matter how fast it is though, I'm not turning mine into a 300BHP monster!

Mikes a braver man than I.
There would be no way I would let just anyone jump in and drive it. Best venue being Alconbury for sure, wide and no oncoming traffic, but it is'nt going to be your usual driving experience either.
Be careful chaps.
Big respect to the loud pedal. ;)

DJ Badger is in the house.

I can't say how irritated I am at not being able to make tomorrows event. Really wanted to have a good look over the IHI'd Ibiza. While I'm currently planning for a K0-4 swap, I could be swayed to IHI if price and other factors were convincing enough (outright peak BHP figure isn't the most important factor to me).
Hoping to read a comprehensive rundown of the performance characteristics - power delivery, torque-steer, general driving experience from those guys lucky enough to give it a bash. :)

I'd like to plug the VAG-COM via the lapton in to get some figures but I'm thinking that Mike will say a big NO to that...trade secrets and all that!

Jabba's Ibiza does live... Drove it last night.
Not fit for public consumption as it was'nt completed to a satisfactory level for yesterday - sadly. ECU gremlins intervened at the 11th hour and time ran out.
It will be worth the wait to see though... by christ it will. - Drove it and.. WOW..
See the thread above for more.
Gotta get me one of them NOW NOW NOW!
:) :) :)
