Hi folks,

My car (2.0 16V Cupra) has a mild blowing (possibly sucking) noise coming from the engine when the car is moving, it does not happen at standstill. I have had the exhaust and cat checked and they are fine. The noise seems to be coming from the drivers side of the car and is probably from something like a split breather, my problem is that i have no idea what to look for or where to look, have any of you lot had a problem like this?? And if you have then what was wrong??

check the induction pipe coming from the top of your engine to the airbox, may have a hole in it, although dont know how tghat'd happen as its thin rubber but its not THAT thin:) :)

I was thinking of replacing that hose with the stiffer Samco one, will this make as much of a difference as ppl are saying??

will make a slight difference ,
but you will really notice the noise difference, sounds a lot better when climbing the ervs!!! smile factor 10
