Hi Bill,

what pads would you recommend for a Seat Leon Mk2 TFSI, same as Golf MkV GTI fitment. 312x25mm

Also how about uprated discs?

:)

some progress... not 100% on application as its listed as something else in the ferodo book. They faxed me a pad sillohette, which I would need to compare to your as is pads..

Price was £129+vat a set

I am not 100% on these being the ones.

Im not 100% clued up on these things, but are the Ferodo pads really worth £85 more than the EBC red stuff's?

And seeing as my pads oare only 7k miles old, will I see much difference in braking, bearing in mind im on a trackday soon!

Reds need warming up so I understand, DS2500's work well from cold.

I personally do not like EBC products at all, so my answer will be somewhat biased.

Only one way to find out is try the cheaper ones yourself.

I've done almost 7k miles and 3 "outings" and the pads are still looking good.

Maybe I'm not driving hard enough but I'll be sticking with the OEM ones when the time comes to replace.

Ermm...I would think they'd be dead after a lap with you behind the wheel!

However...these may last longer and pass the Badger test.

I remember eating a set of brand new EBC Greenstuffs at Castle Combe one time. Could not believe they were down to the metal at end of the day!

I think we both agree the silly discs we had also played a part in grinding them down to nothing in no time.

Never again.

yea the G88 tarox cheese graters no doubt aided and abetted... but when I tried the greens originally on my old jetta on plain 280mm disks, they lasted... get this.... ONE SESSION only at combe. brand new fitted in the paddock, bedded in on one session, and next session by the end I had no brakes and when I removed the wheels to check... no frigging pad material left what so ever. EBC shite.... Went and got some mintex M171's I think it was from merlin motorsport and carried on for the rest of the day, and reverted to my previous trusty pagid FR's (until they too turned downhill after TRD takeover)

Just re-engineering my own brake setup now for 330's on my 4 pot AP's on its new suspension setup.

comparing brackets we've made previously and my audi's brackets dwarf all the others... 8 pot brembo's are just blumming huge!
