Doing a favour for my girlfriend here who has a 53 plate Corsa with just a tape player. Now it has the display up top and the buttons down below so to speak and she is wanting a CD player. I have an old Kenwood unit that used to be in my Ibiza. Firstly, does anyone know what facia plate she is going to need? I am pretty sure the plastic is kinda grey. And secondly, will the display at the top still work as it shows time, radio station and temperature.

you will need a halfords special adaptor to retain the clock display

My dad changed his H/U in his P reg vectra and the wiring harness was £40 (there or there-abouts).

Just swap the H/U and look at your watch matey

The best thing to do would be to fit the headunit to a SEAT, therefore solving the radio issue, and the common 'Vauxhall' issue :p

On a serious note, i seem to remember that there are adapters, but, does the display not just stay on anyway? I'm sure it would jus stay on, rather than showing the radio station?

Andy we could jus give it a try before you/ya gf commits to buying a DIN thingy?

From what i can remember the time stays there as does the temperature but it does not display the radio station anymore.

Thats fine as the radio is going to display the station. Bought some bits today, the facia adapter and a Car Audio connecter from Halfrods for the Corsa so hopefully will get it done soon
