SURROUNDING THE ALLEGED SALE OF THE COMPANY

SEAT denies all information published by media

The management of SEAT S.A. categorically denies any information published by the German magazine Automobilwoche http://www.automobilwoche.com surrounding the alleged sale of the company.

There is no truth whatsoever in the information and SEAT S.A. considers all related speculation absurd

Not sure there is any other company in the industry that has the funds to make a serious offer for them anyway, except possibly a Chinese concern and thats doubtful too. And its not the same scenario as MGRover.

VAG won't want to give SEAT away. It might not be the most profitable group, but its still making money in certain segments and locales.

Well possibly, racing is marketing at its most cash consuming. It raises the profile of the brand, and hopefully makes people walk into the dealerships.

WTCC will be scaled down next year however, and it has already been alledged they may pull out alltogether from the WTCC according to recent reports in Autosport.

Basically they are still in the process of deciding the factory race programme for 2007.

However its highly unlikely to have any bearing on SEAT Sport UK in the BTCC, and they as we know have already committed to the SEAT Cupra Championship series next year.

and a bad sign is usually the motorsport being stopped - look at rover in btcc

That can't be good, I thought with the New Leon things were looking good for Seat. I thought sales were increasing?
