decided to take some pictures to show off my new bits, especially as I cant decide whether to get a set of alloy wheels before next summer like I was planning or to leave it now until I'm ready to get a new car which will probably be at the beginning of 2008.

the car is plenty fast enough for me, self timing with vagcom and with a camera, 0-60mph is about 6 seconds, 0-100mph is late 14s and Iv taken it passed 150mph on the clocks relatively easy (on private airstrips)
but at the same time the build quality isnt amazing, the ride is pretty harsh and it doesnt give me as much confidence as i'd like when taking corners quickly.

I still enjoy driving it though so I wont be binning it just yet

I didnt bother cleaning it, wasnt much point today plus i did last sunday, and i never clean wheels anyway

Nice car mate. I wouldnt bother getting new wheels though.... if you dont clean the ones you have its gonna be a fairly pointless excercise. Like your engine bay, did u make the CAI yourself?

cheers fella, good point too but then maybe if i had a more attratctive set of rims perhaps I would take the time.
as for the cai, i didnt make it myself but i made it fit, it was designed for a mk4 golf

How hard was it to adjust the cai to fit?

lol, come on! Was it that hard?

no, abit of bending necessary for the brackets and some force to get it to sit where you want in the bumper and it was in. had to move the battery over and getting the hose onto the maf was abit fiddly but it only took a few minutes

looks sweet!! Do you notice any difference now that the filter is in a different location? I'd be quite interested in havin a go at that myself......Im a bit stubborn when it comes to hands on stuff, like a challenge to keep my brain moving......

its alot louder now and lets off a 'whoosh' when the throttle is backed off. sounds good and im happy with it. as for performance gains, i had a dynatwist before but i wouldn't say there was any further gain.

i did try to film a brief burst so the sound could be heard too, but its very wet here and it was impossible to control the throttle! just couldnt get the boost up!!!

clean your wheels! They dont look too bad when they are clean! Ive got some meguiars wheel brightener if you need some HD stuff.

Looking good though karl, problem is with cupras people start looking ahead of the car, enjoy it, get some rims, you'll love it more!
