no probs with mine to date,it's a very nice conversion and you'll be amazed at the difference:D if you're staying with standard internals they'll map it to run 1.4-1.5bar max which should get you circa 340bhp:clap:

I had good fun with mine, but I also had more than several failures on housings & cracked manifold(s), warping etc.
Hard use I know, but this is the real test on what can put up with it or not & how hard you can actually push stuff. Mine was pushed hard and used as a testbed for many others... but my take on these things these days is more conservative for customer cars, unless they are fully prepared to high running costs. Peg them for sensible levels and all should be well. Crank em up and you takes your chance.

My new one is a Mitsubishi/Garrett hybrid
got x2 new ones on the way to me also of very similar spec (slightly modded again from my as_is) and these are high 400bhp level units potentially (with suitable other mods)

i think youve proved its limitations well. helps me to feel confident that im ok with mine mate.

you must have a very sensitive right foot to get the most out of your ibiza..i still suffer from planting too hard in 2nd when side by side with others coming off roundabouts . had an old g60 polo shaped thing with a very good driver in it who almost got past me as i slewed along spinning merrily away till i found 3rd and wizzed off.

400bhp must take some concentration.

new BIG throttle intake mani is underway fitting now...with the help of Forge piping it up.

Will soon know what its like. (APR's big throttle mani,, on a 350whp car, gained a reported 37whp from this mod) - Mines a 435whp car last dyno'd on its dual plenum mani and std throttle. (59mm vs 75mm)

and I have some custom CatCams to drop in yet too. :D :D :D

Bill

On this setup with the new Mani etc I assume your looking circa 500bhp fly and 450+ whp.....nice figures. Is the new secret Diff in yet? any details on it???

Why not just shove on a GT40r or something and make her a full on dyno queen ;) - KIDDING!

hehe, not a dyno queen as we know... has to do races as well... :)

450whp has been my personal tgt since outset. Getting close to realisation now.

Diff is here (gripper) waiting on me pulling box out of spare ibiza to build it into. Looking fwd to synchro box again I can tell ya. Identified stronger 02J 5spd gearset also now for the inevitable bang when the stock one breaks.

just a question of money, lol - poor tree.

If mani works 1/2 as well as the US claim, then 500+bhp fly is going to be realised at this step (step 2) and step 3 (cams) may push this up again.

mad as a fish

April I think season starts again.
never finished. always fiddling.

more on suspension lately which is more important than silly power, and transmission change.

Get your self in a few modded leons and see, maybe you would be happy with a differnt option (hybrid, garret etc). At least that way if/when you go IHI you know it was the best route

Is there a lot in your experience about that have been modded? What has been done to your motor?

Erm theres a few around but maybe a word with a few of the main tunners would help as they will know of a few about.

Mines running a hybrid k04 so should get around 300bhp (i hope) but the car feels solid as a rock when she pulls. This is really all i wanted as i didnt want to go OTT with the price and power.

Which area are you from? If your near herts you could come to our meet?

No what you mean! It is very expensive but hopefully worth it. Im from the Cambridgeshire area which is'nt a million miles away from yourself. Im going to a meet on sunday in St Ives, when is your meet?
