Hi,

Has anyone felt the need to upgrade the brakes on the Leon....for me I think they suffer slightly from brake fade when hammering down the country roads. If anyone did...... what did you fit??

Perhaps I should also mention my Leon is a non-turbo one (1.8SE). Maybe I should upgrade to the Cupra brakes (if these are better)? Although i would prefer to put proper sports ones on.

DITTO.........

My SE TDi also suffers brake fade after 2 attempts at stopping from high speed (100+mph).....

Maybe EBC disks and pads....

EBC Green stuff pads and disks.... I use the pads on my Montego Estate sprint car and it resists fade better than the guys with big disk conversions:D

Leon Cupra's have uprated brakes over the standard car but I believe its only the fronts. 312mm vented disks and larger calipers but you'll need the 16" Cupra wheels or equivalent size to clear the calipers so not just a brake upgrade. To give you an idea how big these are Porsche Boxters only have 320mm front disks !!!

Suffice to say haven't had a brake problems with mine but some of the guys have done track days so they may know different...

I'm hoping to get some 16" Cupra alloys soon anyway. The std brakes are v.close to the 15" wheels.
I had a 305mm disk conversion on a Montego Turbo and thought they were big!!!

I have a Leon 20Vt4 (4 wheel drive) and i have tried fpr 2 months to upgrade the brakepads. Im tired of getting my 17" OZ F1 plus wheels black after just a couple of kilometers of drive and i also have brake fade.

The local EBC dealer tried to get a pricequote for my car, he ended upo calling EBC in GB, Brembo and someother company. All he got for a answer was not now, we are developing brakepads for this car... So i have to stick with original...
