i think i have all the right bits for the map i have turbo. mainifold .downpipe 100cell cat. cat back exhaust injectors 4 bar fuel pr induction kit and FMIC. do u think i should get a bigger maf or stick with my original and is there anything else i need .
thanks alot dan
You need oil/coolant lines aswell.
Also i think you will need the 70mm MAF from LCR/S3 as the turbo intake pipe to mate up with the K04 will have a 70mm opening at the top, where the MAF joins. No good trying to fit that onto a k03 MAF.
Then you will then have air filter issues as im not sure again if your standard sized airfilter will mate up with 70mm MAF?
If you dont mind me asking how much was the hybrid from TD? We just recently had a group buy from the states on a hybrid K04 for around £950. (Probably good for 300-310bhp)

hi mate i brought the turbo seconhand but it was never used so in a way it is brand new. it was brought new for 1300 i think. i was told it was a straght swap for k03 as it is a k03s with k04 uprated internals turbo dynamics said all it needed was the bigger T.I.P not oil coolent lines ?
If its a proper K04 turbo, (S3/TT/LCR) you will need all the K04 kit including oil/coolant lines/MAF/TIP but if its a K03 turbo with K04 wheel then you wont need any additional items at all apart from the fuelling side of things!
You wouldnt need DP/mani etc if it were a k03 based turbo, but will do if its a genuine K04 turbo.
Well i think anyway, Bill will give you a better answer than me but im 99% sure what im saying is correct.

this is the number with the turbo md349 and its a stage 1 wich should make it a k03s .
I would've guessed that it was most likely a K03S based hybrid. I doubt very much it's a K04 based one.
If the outlet for the DP points downwards, it's K03 based, if it points out to the side, it's K04 based. Have a look for Eliminator based threads - they usually have pictures in them.
I wouldn't worry - I think it was the way you wrote your first post that made Mitchy think it was a K04 based one.
...Yes the MD349 from TD is a K03s with K04 Internals in it and a 360 degree thrust bearing, just make sur that when mapped it is not mapped higher than 265bhp, or it will go bang shortly after, RobDon had one on his mapped by star, they pushed it to 293bhp with a freezing system on the intercooler...it didnt last to long after that. They are about £800 new if you send them your K03s and £1100 outright. You will need injectors from an s3/TT for it and an airbox from the same car, for the extra 30bhp and the same torque of the k03S ( 280lbs/ft max ) the MD349 is not worth it, better to go with a GT2X with a reliable 280bhp /280Lbs/ft....just my opinion though!
Is it the one that Farmerboy was selling on here a few months Back with the ATP Manifold, I had a look at that but decided against it.
Cheers
Dave
No need for mani and DP then if its a K03 based turbo!
I wouldnt haver thought he would have needed a K04 based airbox though, surely his standard 1 should do? MAF/TIP should remain the same. Will the K04 airbox mate up with the K03 MAF or will he need a reducer?
Will his standard injectors not cope with just a 4bar fitted?

Also i think you will need the 70mm MAF from LCR/S3
Isn't the smaller one 70mm and the S3 / LCR / TT one 80mm

you will want to use a larger TIP for LCR sized MAF tube, and whatever effect that has on your current induction system (std, or other)
70mm OD now, will go to 80mm OD.
Injectors from LCR also, instead of trying to max out ibiza ones. (440's too big really)

hi bill fitted the k04 hybird turbo and tip and maff do you think i should fit larger injectors now or when being mapped also have a four bar reg would that be fitted when bein mapped ?
thanks

larger injectors will likely be needed... what do you have in mind? LCR ones are going to ratio up right with the MAF upsize.
You still running stock fuel pump?

yeah i have lcr injectors and lcr maff .fuel pump is standard .

pop the injectors in, leave the 3bar FPR in and drive off boost to me.
should be ok for that
