Kept myself busy today & hacked lumps off the car. quite scarey, but once it was done there was no turning back.

Cheers bud

i could do, but then it's slam panel, lights & the grill & wings for a perfect fit.

just want to tidy it before it's my rag machine. hidden boot build tomorrow as I can't be bothered to do the rear beam

Know that feeling - I got as far as buying the wheel bearings for the 'rocco... Mind you, an Ibiza rear beam is only a 4 bolt job (alright, plus brake hoses and handbrake cable), maybe that's what the spanner rating in Haynes refers to?

just thinking that my fingers half froze this morning... plus the feeling that I might break the stub axle bolts.

so I'm going to build a new beam with new brake lines, and stubs much easier then

I spent a hour fitting a dump valve today...bloody compressing locking clips....(which meant removing the strut brace). Also, the clips were right behind the hoses...

Stil got my s**t pipe conversion done.

Ah right, the replacement beam has no brakes attached? Yeah, that will make it a bit bigger job. Make sure you have some new bolts for the rear brakes. And use a 6 face socket on them, not a 12 face one - else it'll all end in tears...

Sorry about all the scratches on the bumper, my parking skills always were slightly suspect:D

I've probably got all the lower black plastic cover bits that clip into the holes round the towing eye etc. (if i can find them in my shed!)(mind you, leave them off, less weight!)

no worries, it's getting a spattering of mesh (lightweight of course) on the weekend

saved loads of weight from all the metal that I cut off (and cut myself on)

parking scratches - you could at least have pretended there were some heroics involved.

yea, the odd story about a...........
heroic swerve to avoid that pesky white line in the middle of the road.
heroic dash out of the way of the oncoming dead leaf fluttering at a steady rate of knots towards the windscreen.
herioc picnic where the missus got a good seeing to on the bonnet.....
i could go on!!

Looking good Mark,
Need some polishing done?

Need to shed some weight myself get a nice bit a ali mesh from B&Q etc - same as the Foilatech stuff but "Cheap as chips" - well 1/4 the price anyway...

Been looking reading the latest PVW mag - Seriously quick MK1 golfs off a 1.3 litre and a throttle bodied beauty (MMM). Launch control anyone? (not 1:30 a.m. on a Friday night after 10 pints).

Been shaving bits off my rear arch with the 10mm spacers - lost a few grammes there anyway...;)

V impressed with the change in handling with the extra track though just need a bit more space between me and T' Tarmac.

Recomend the Splitfire Coild Spring asssitors/bump stops to stop those embarasing F2 scraping moments.

By the way I have some spacers (15mm and 17 mm going spare). The design does not fit the rear hub of my Cordy - may fit yours or can machine the centre out a bit - hub centric adaptor is separate thank god (too wide for me anyway) They fit the front fine (have 15mm up front at the moment with only a little rubbing with the 225's!).

max_torque's Bill, Paul gave me the bumper after he has no need for it - don't panic I haven't got happy with the angle grinder.

Usually there is not much left to photograph, let alone give to someone for there car after i have had a "heroic" moment!

(i've got the pics somwhere of my last rally car, in which i clipped a wall in Epynt whilst flat in 4th, and rolled 4 or 5 times! (sorry lost count half way through as i had closed my eyes!)

Ibiza NRC (Northampton Rally Car!) is getting together slowly, but work keeps getting in the way. Hopefully Kevlar bodywork will have progressed by christmas and gearbox will have arrived.

(getting a bit bogged down in little things like Carbon fibre mounts for the damper resevoirs etc!)

From the 'blurred' pics (sorry mp) it looks like it's going to be a cracking car. Love to know more m8.

Dor gets jealous his cars still under warrenty, other wise it would be mod time :)...
