(Discussion around the fact that 5th in the gearbox is actually a slightly lower gearing ratio than 4th)

If anyone knows how the final drive alters for 5th and 6th I'd be interested to find out.......

Erm.... where to start.;)

On Leon Cupra's and VT's 5th and 6th go through an additional transfer ratio which means that even though 5th is lower geared than 4th when it goes to the final drive it is actually a higher ratio...????....:eek:

Why? probably lack of space and they used an existing gearbox casting when they designed the 6 speeder at a guess.
