hi guys, first time user. I'm having major brake trouble with my 97 cupra sprot beeza. The brake peddle travels right down to the floor. Seat have had it 9 weeks, changed all major components and cannot cure the problem. The abs doesn't seem to kick in as i don't get a thumping through the peddle. Has anyone else had these sorts of problems?
Parts changed are - fluid, pads, discs, master cylinder, abs pump and module, servo.

any comments?

cheers

Ummm.....strange one!

It looks like your dealer has changed everything apart from one item....which i thought would have been the first port of call!

BRAKE LINES/HOSES!

From what i know....pedal travel can be cured by upgrading to higher quality brake hoses like Goodridge etc.

Also.......it could be you are having air pockets within the brake hose.....so its not fully filled up with fluid. This can also affect brake pedal feel, travel, etc.

This should be cured though thru a good brake fluid bleeding job....and also making sure the brakes are pumped up back to normal parameters so that the pads are almost touching the discs. Otherwise....if they weren't pumped up....you will find yourself having to hit the back wall with the pedal before the pads grab the discs.

Oh.....have they looked at the Calipers too????

Not sure where you are...but Goodridge Steel Braided hoses are the ones to go for.

top notch stuff...don't think they cost too much.....i'll be having some when my new calipers go on in December.

If you can't get those....Aeroquip make some good ones too.

Demon Tweeks stock the Goodridge......not sure who does the Aeroquip though!

good luck.

cheers. the problem is worse in warmer weather, so maybe this has something to do with the hoses. sorry flapper, not sure on the regulator, that goes way over my head, will ask seat to check though. Where do i stand legally if seat say that they have done all they can? can i kick up a fuss and try and get a 1.8t at a cut down price

cheers in advance
