Yesterday was my first 'dealer service' experience when Ihad to drop off Lorna's Ibiza for a couple of things to be looked at.
I thought I would just put up a few comments about it.
We booked the car in about 10 days before hand as that was when a Loan car would be available for us to use - I work very close to where I live, Lorna works about 15 miles away. She took my car in as I work Flexi time.
So I get a loan car, anyway, I turned up at 8. 30 or there abouts & after a quick greeting, Steve went off to check out my Licence with the insurers (long story), quick coffee & I was shown to the loaner. I had spotted outside on my way in a MY2003 Leon, an Alabama, and I think an Ibiza & a couple of pre facelift Leons. Anyway, I was escorted to the car, turns out it was a 02 Leon TDi110, I'd not driven one before, so I was pretty interested in how the Leon oil burner went.
Job done, I was back to Towcester quick enough & remembered to email them to let them know where the locking wheel nut key was... always fun for when they need to get the wheels off.
I had a call at about 12ish I think, but I didn't hear my mobile, but it turns out it didn't matter. Then a call to Lorna's house to say the car was done, not that it mattered as I'd already left to be there at 5pm pre agreed.
Quick top up on Oil en route saw that I didn't return the car empty.
Car was cleaned on the inside & so where the wheels which was nice, no need to do the outside, it wasn't exactly a nice day.
The noise I & Lorna could hear, couldn't be heard by the Mech's, but maybe I'm just paranoid about wheel bearings. rumble rumble rumble.
Then just to top it all off the couple of bits I'd ordered for my car were in, paying for these today when I go back to pick up the Antiroll bar mounts I ordered a day later.
All in all a good experience, most of the people there are friendly, chatty & actually seem to like their jobs (I mean, you have to drive new cars all the time - doesn't sound too bad to me)
I would say hopefully I'll experience it again, but hopefully there won't be any warrantee stuff again!
