hi all this is my first thread since joining, i've had my v5 for 7 weeks and have been havig some minor niggles, maybee somebody can help. my drivers seat keeps forgeting its memory positions or forgets part of it, the longitudeal/lateral motor somtimes dosn't work and the mirrors somtimes forget where they are. is this an uncommon fault because every time my dealer has a look the seat works ok again, i'm on my way to the dealer when i finish this!, also does any one know the differance betwween the 150 v5 and the 170 v5 is it easy to increase the power? eg: management alterations, or inlet cam swaps modifications to the heads? any help much apprecated.

Hi Sordfish,

Memory seats, yep they can be a tad confusing sometimes. Firstly try resetting the seat by putting it as far forward as it will go both back and seat. Then it's a case of following the manual to the letter for seat and forward mirror settings then the reverse mirror settings. Make sure your keyfob is also programmed to your settings. I have found it can have a mind of it's own if you don't do it all in order. If there is a fault it will show up on the VAG diagnostic.

150 V5 = 10V
170 V5 = 20V

So if you mean can you put a 20V cam in the 10V then....well nuff said. Not sure what the implications of putting a whole 20V head in a 150 would be. Some of the more technically clued up guys on the forum might be able to help here. An ecu re-map will get you the extra 20 horses if you have a 150 V5 and about the same figure in lb/ft torque.

Hope this helps

Best bet for tuning the V5 150 is ECU chip, induction kit and free flowing exhaust. Would think you might be able to squeeze 180hp with that sort of set up.

Putting a 20v head on it would be a monster job and not worth the cost.

I agree with Cupramax, adding the 20V head is a monster job.
After the chip, induction kit and free flowing exhaust you might try a more agressive cam. The cam might be a bunch of cash as well.
