Hi all, im new to this forum but am hoping someone may be able to help? i own a brand new Arosa 16V which in the last couple of days has developed a water leak, the rear drivers side footwell is flooded and ive no idea where its coming in! ive booked it into my dealer in Hampton court but they cant look at it til 10th November! does anyone know what it could be so i can sort it myself? my previous experience with seat dealers is that they dont seem to know what they are doing....this being my second Arosa in five months they had to give me a new one after the first Y plate one broke down so often!! i seem to remeber hearing that Leon owners suffered this problem sometimes, obviously the cars are different but is the problem the same??

any help tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

cool car by the way , as for it being in the rear drivers side footwell , you mean in the passenger area yeah ?

best plabe to look is the door and seals , best bet if you need to look yourself , is talcum powder round the inner of the seal and spray it with a jetwasher , the TALC should show where the water got through .

bear in mind , water gets in all sorts of places and tracing it can be a real australian drinks server (BAR STEWARD)

good luck

Thanks to all who have helped and no harm done!! i honestly didnt know that you could view all new posts, would never have posted 3 times otherwise!!!

ive tried pouring water round the door and when i open it the seal at the top of the door seems to be letting water in there and in turn it runs down the door seal on the vertical and i reckon gets in behind the plastic cover down there. I cannot see any way i can sort this so its off to the dealer anyways to see what they can/cannot do!!

thanks again and apologies to anyone who may think im a tosser...

Hi there!

sorry if i'm going off-topic here but just wanted to say I got my 16v Arosa from Hampton Court too!

Just wanted to assure you that they seem to be quite a helpful bunch over there since I've taken my car back there twice since I got it back in Jan.

Don't be alarmed - the second time was for the 8500mile service while the first was coz my passenger side wing mirror adjusting thing had snapped for some reason...

Good news is that they replaced the entire wing mirror there and then under warranty in 30mins good as new! (this kind of service was new to me being used to Fiat dealerships... don't ask!)

The only qualm with the service was the wait in that I had to wait about 4 weeks between the lil service light coming on in the dash (cool) to when i could take my car in. By which time I had added another 1000 miles to the clock.

But apart from that I can say that the Hampton Court place are pretty good and helpful!

I got the old shape X reg model though but kinda prefer it coz the lights seem less bug-like (heehee! no offence!).

Bug like lights my arse.....!!!

the Lupo has bug eyed front lights but i think the Arosa rear lights are great, just one of the touches that makes the car.

i didnt buy my car from Hampton court but cheers for the input, i got mine from Francis in Leicester because thats where i used to live and they are ok, not brilliant but they did give me anew car when mine failed, i also got to go to Rockingham and drive the Leon 20VT on track with a race driver giving me tips so i cant fault them too much.

Hey! More peeps from Hampton Court. Thats where I bought my Ibiza Cupra from (Imperial Blue). I find them to be okay there as well. My cars got to go in on Tuesday as the air-con isn't working properly amongst other things like severe turbo lag and the rattles and squeaks that every Ibiza owner seems to be familiar with.
Don't really know why I came in here, just nosey I suppose, glad I did though.
What colour are your cars, I will keep an eye out as I work (and used to live) in Molesey.

took the arosa in today to hampton court and they sem to think they found a small hole in the windscreen sealant which was letting water in, took 2 hours and car is now fine, they got rid of the water in the soundproofing so fingers crossed all will be ok!!
