Hi all, im new to this forum but am hoping someone may be able to help? i own a brand new Arosa 16V which in the last couple of days has developed a water leak, the rear drivers side footwell is flooded and ive no idea where its coming in! ive booked it into my dealer in Hampton court but they cant look at it til 10th November! does anyone know what it could be so i can sort it myself? my previous experience with seat dealers is that they dont seem to know what they are doing....this being my second Arosa in five months they had to give me a new one after the first Y plate one broke down so often!! i seem to remeber hearing that Leon owners suffered this problem sometimes, obviously the cars are different but is the problem the same??

any help tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

Dave

You dont need to spam this message all over the message boards!, You are likely to annoy people rather than get their help if you do this

Tip for you Dave.
Don't post the same question all over the forum.....
ever heard of spamming?
cost thats what you have unwittingly done...
you're new so this is just a quiet word of advise... don't cross post questions over forums, unless you want to receive a little flame grilling.
take care
Bill

Just chargrill the lad, i think thats what you've already done guys :)

Give the lad a break only his first posts, its a wonder he'll come back. :p

Dave as you might of seen from some of our more grumpy posters ;)

To multi post an item all over the boards seems to piss people off, anyway our rules on spamming really only come into force if someone is spamming something that either is rude or offensive, or is trying to plug something without really giving anything back in return.

But if youve got a specific question to ask, try and put it in the specific place on the forum.

As for leaky Arosa's im not sure mate, not a great deal of members own them, as of this time we have a few people who own Arosas, so maybe someone will come along with better advice or a similar problem.

Its still a bit of a mystery on the Leon, it seems to be a fault with the door seals, but could also be related to a badly fitted pollen filter or lack of waterproofing seal behind the windscreen or even no gromets in the bulkhead behind the dashboard.

The place you describe may be that your door seals are trapping water within the seal, i'd first check with your dealer for a fix, if not some people have suggested making a small cut in the seal inline with the door drainage holes.

As i say check this with your dealer first, cause any modifications you make to the seal will more than likely invalidate your warranty on that part.

Better safe than sorry.

Hope you get sorted. :D

Thanks for the reply matey, i posted originally on the Arosa forum but not many people seemed to be subscribed to it so to widen my target audience i asked some people in the other forums aswell.....what the problem is with this i will never know?. Thanks to you for being normal and not jumping down peoples necks when they unwittingly do something wrong!! i wont bother the guys at Seat Cupra again now as first impressions last as they say, cheers for your help and will see what my dealers say.

to all others who replied .....is there nothing better in life for you to do than jump down peoples necks like that??

Apologies, hope it wont put you off, need more people to join in, especially those with the less common cars of the marque.

If you havn't seen it already, Flapper our main man :D

Has posted some info that may be helpful to you in the Arosa section.

ZBOYD>>So please tell me - what was so grumpy about my post to Davegeorge here eh? If you meant me. It was very polite advise to a new poster to help him avoid future roasting.....
not a flame in sight from me :D

Davegeorge>> If you took my reply in a bad way, then please accept my applogies - that was not my intent - It was meant as advise to prevent you getting "really flamed" from someone.

Same here!,

There wasnt anything nasty or grumpy in my reply either,

I was just trying to be helpful to him,

Its just that most people click on the 'view all new posts' button, and to click through them to find the same message coming up again and again IS a bit annoying,

Mosy people clicking on the 'new posts' button will see the message no matter what car they drive or forum that they read, and i'm sure they would reply if they had an answer to his problem.

I know guys hence the >>>> ;)

means im kiddin, just having a laugh :D

I know your cool and you dont mean any harm, but hes a newbie to the board, just given the lad a break, hes obviously concerned about his motor and just wanted some advice.

Not like some of the more annoying ones we've been getting lately anyway.
