Not a difficult one.....

Can anyone please advise the correct tyre pressures for the 205.55.16s.

(The manual says "look behind the filler cap"...)

Anyone messed around with them? (something tells me Mosser will have! )

Cheers,
Mik

Who me?, mess with tyre pressures!!,

Well actually i spent nearly a week playing with different presures in the front and rear covering about 1500 miles in total!,

I found that basically 38psi rear and 39psi front works best for handling, at the expense of a rougher ride, but who cares how smooth the ride is!:D

I knew it!

I also guessed you would have settled on a lesser front-to-rear pressure difference to encourage the rear a little...

Do I win a prize?

I'm currently running 33F/31R ~ haven't played with it at all yet.

The info behind my fuel flap says 32F/30R, but that's for the stock 195/65/15s.......what is standard for the 16's?

Edited 'cos I forgot to say:-
www.eurocarparts.com do pairs of wheel spacers for the Golf IV in 3,6,9 and 12mm ~ I know you were thinkin about these - maybe 3 or 6 would be enough to make a difference without getting too close to the arches (?).

Hi guys

the cupra has been pulling to thhe left since i picked it up
last week, the first thing the mechanic did was to check the
tyre pressure it was 34 he put them all down to 30 i know
this was`nt the cause of the pulling it`s needs tracked so
he called the guys who do the tracking for them and they
wont have the disc with the leon on it for another 2 weeks
is there anywhere close to barnet that can do it .

No prize Mik, sorry!! although you could drive your car for an extra 100 miles on you way home from work if you wanted:) ,

I also found that carrying about 40 kilos in your boot as far back as you can really helps the handling too! (i do all the time now!)

when i was running 205's i found that 37f/36r was best with the weight in the boot, it really transformed the handling doing those 2 things, not sure what the stock tyre pressures are on the 16's, will have a look in hte morning and let you know!

all car tyre fitting places will be able to do your wheel alignment, just pop into them and they will do it for you whilst you wait, its only a 15 minute job!

I should have thought they could have done 4 wheel tracking with the standard equipment, if they dont then they should be able to point you in the direction of someone who can!
