Very Very close to buying a Yellow Leon Cupra TDI [B)] that i was looking at yesterday and im now going to have to phone around insurance companies to see how much ill be. btw im male,20yr old,3years ncb, passplus, doing 8k per annum
My Current Insurance Company (Express Insurance-Im currently £580 for my Passat 1.9tdi 110 SE, Third Party, Insurance group 11)and i gave them a phone thinking going from insurance group 11-13 shouldnt be bad and going from TPFT to Fully comp should only add another 2hundred or so. They quoted me £2000!!!![:@] .They can shove that.
Thought id start on confused and got a quote of £980 from admiral, sounds alright. So im looking for suggestions(companies) worth giving a phone?

Try Money Supermarket too for a quote. I'd check out HIC, Adrian Flux as well as NU. Direct Line are often good for your age!
Im 21, no NCB but 3 years named driver discount. And working on what they are charging for the remainder of my policy Quinn Direct work out at about 850-900 so they may be worth a call.
The above is for a FR 150.
Greenlight all the way, 25yrs 3ncb's £476

The above is for a FR 150.I've just got back from signing the order form for my 2004 Leon Cupra TDI, and I've gone with Quinn Direct too.
I'm 24, with 2 years NCB, 1 fault accident in 2002, 1 50/50 accident in 2006, 1 SP30 in 2005. Came to about £950.
I did have a cheaper quote via Swinton (£885 using Markerstudy), however between getting the quote and buying it, apparently someone had made the decision to strike Markerstudy off Swinton's list of approved insurers due to problems. Maybe a lucky escape there!
One thing that concerns me about Quinn Direct is that when I was getting a quote, there didn't seem to be an option for "Social, Domestic, Pleasure and Commuting to single workplace". They had SD&P, and they had SDP&Business, but this seemed to be for people who actually used the car as part of their job, rather than commuting. Don't suppose you can tell me if commuting is covered under the SD&P, olaf? I'm planning on checking the paperwork as soon as it arrives, but I couldn't find any mention of commuting online.
Help
Social, Domestic and Pleasure Purposes (Class 1) - Including travel to and from work by any driver named on the policy and use for towing (other than for hire or reward). So the answer is yes, "Social, Domestic and Pleasure" insurance will cover me for commuting to and from work, just not for use of the car for work.
I'm now a happy bunny, won't screw up the collection of my car on Weds :)
