Hi there,

Was interested in re-mapping my 2001 1.8T. She's currently done just over 27k miles. A few questions for you chap!

I've read mixed opinions, does the engine need an upgraded recirc valve to hold the boost on your map? I'm running the standard Bosch and will upgrade to a Forge in the future if it needs it.

I've read that you are happy to apply aggresive or progressive maps, without sounding cheeky, is it possible to test the difference between them at no additional charge? In any case, I'd be interested mainly in driveability so I'd default to the progressive set-up. I'm not sure as to how different they would feel though.

Finally, how much for a happy SCN member!? :p

Hi There

A forge DV is recommended, but not 100% required. The standard Bosch DV tends to leak boost. This is something you can change afterwards though if you dont want to spend on the 007P/Re-map kit in one go.

When we say we can do an aggressive map, this is not our standard mapping, as it does not deliver power as well throughout the rev range.

We would have to charge extra labour for the 2 maps. We map each car from its original data, meaning each time the car is programmed, will take approx 1 1/2 hours, so we would be doubling the time used.

The P-torque re-map is currently £250 all in, although we will not be offering this special price for much longer. In 1 week it will be £295 all in.

Our Forge DV, and Re-map package is £395 all in.

Please feel free to ask any other questions :)

Thanks for the prompt response. I understand the extra work involved, thought I'd ask in case you were feeling generous! :p

If you recommend a forge DV then I would be happy to fit that myself before the remap.

A question about petrol octane. I religiously use Vpower and have done since I've owned the car - 2,5 months and over 5,000 miles later! My ECU will have adapted to the petrol by now, does your map account for this automatically? is there anything special that you need to do?

Thanks!

Hi

The ECU will still account for the higher octane fuel being used.

Usually it will be fully adapted for the higher octane after approx 1 1/2 tanks of petrol.
