There's a set of pictures of a black Leon Cupra on gallary 6 that claims to be a 150 TDi but is badged a Cupra 4.

Just want to know if this car is a TDi 150 or not?

I have been v.impressed by the work done on ZBoyd's Leon by Amethyst  and am wondering if I should go for the bodykit or hang on and get a 150 next year.

Deano,

The TDI150 comes in 2wd "sport" form (which looks identical to a UK Cupra except for exhaust trim) and 4wd Cupra4 form...which looks identical to the 2.8 Cupra4.

As far as I know, only the 2wd "sport" will come (maybe.....make yer mind up SEAT UK) to the UK.

When I collected my car the other week "my man" had a black TDI150 Cupra4 in LHD awaiting uplift by a UK customer.....someone couldn't wait! Looked gorgeous ~ recaro part leather interior and white dials looked spanky too....

So mik, what your saying is that it could be a TDi 150 Cupra 4? Perhaps Phillipe? can confirm.

Anyone notice the cross-drilled pedal set? Don't suppose these would have any part numbers yet Flapper?

Thanks.

I am indeed. :)

I'd go so far as to say it IS a TDI150 Cupra4 (what a mouthful...as the actress said to the bishop).

If you want to be really certain ~ send Phillipe a message using the "private messaging" doo-dah that has arrived with the new forum "look"......it's smart!

Danny (who also posts on here sometimes) also runs a Cupra4 TDI150 ~ I think its now been to Upsolute for 182bhp/312lbs.ft ~ he was certainly planning this....lucky sod. :p

Ah.........the good old LHD parts problem eh Flapper (I of course noticed this knowing immediately that I would be after a RHD set):o ...embarrased...

Mik,
See that your import's arrived :D . My Leon's now got 7.5K on the clock and is loosening up very nicely. I'm the one with the Techno Grey car but I have seen another Leon in that colour now so it's not as exclusive as I thought. My local dealer also has this colour on a stand in the showroom so I guess it's a UK colour now.

I'll drop Phillipe a mail and see what he says.

Thanks,

Just been nosin' on the Seat.com site and found the following New Seat León Cupra 4 and Seat León 1.9 TDi Sport 150 hp (http://****************/en/leoncupraxs/index.html)

It looks as though the TDi 150 is the Blue car without the bodykit.:(

Let's hope it get's to the UK with a bodykit eh?

I would say you are correct about the blue one being the Sport and the yellow the Cupra. I saw a yellow Cupra4 the same in Holland last week.
As the UK doesn't have a Sport model now its likely we''l get the Cupra.....on the other had our Cupras dont have a body kit do they:(

Out of interest, it seems you can get a RHD Leon TDi 150 SE, or TDi 150 Cupra4 from Broadspeed priced at about £12,500 (SE) and £14,500 (Cupra4). They confirmed earlier that the 2.8V^ Cupra4 is available in RHD even though not available in the UK......

Unfortunately (I guess?1#?!) for me here in Portugal the Leon 150 TDI is only available in the Cupra 4WD version. I wanted a 2WD version but it isn't available. I ended up odering the 150 Toledo which comes in this wensday :D :D :D .

Hello,
I am new here, but can describe the situation in Holland.
Here the 150 hp TDI only comes in the cupra4 version.
I will get one in the next week or so. The sport 150 HP is not orderable here since VAG has not enough 150 HP TDI engines. The VW cars will get them primarely and Seat not, except for the cupra4.

I was told that this situation could change in the future. Since i needed to order a lease car now, i went for the cupra 4. I was sold immediatly after i drove one for test.
Mine will be Imperium blue, which you cannot order on a cupra in Holland normally. There is only one V6 and one TDI in this color in Holland, so i am quite happy with it.

Some bad (although not entirely unexpected) news for those wanting a TDi Cupra.... from the horses mouth.

Dear Mr Burrows

Thank you for your e-mail dated 9th November 2001 regarding your
interest in
the SEAT Leon Cupra 4.

Though SEAT UK has been actively trying to convince SEAT SA to produce
the
Cupra 4 in right hand drive format since its introduction on the
continent,
its production is not taking place purely due to commercial factors and
the
engineering costs associated with re-configuration to right hand drive.

We are contacting Broadspeed to bring this to their notice.

Yours sincerely
