Hi Bill, Quick question I hope you may be able to answer.

Im interested in a AP racing big brake kit for my Leon, but there doesnt seem to be enough clearance.

But on ap racing site it says:

"AP Racing does not recommend the use of a wheel spacer or removal of material from the caliper or wheel as a cure."

Any idea why this would be?

Cheers,
Dan

Cheers, bill, using the template thing on the ap website, looks like I will need around 5mm spacers, maxmum of 10mm each side. But im reluctant to due to what is said by AP above. :)

spacers is ok, removing material off a caliper is a bodge IMHO

Ok Thanks bill, lucky I don't get through pads quicly :)

Chungster, ive agreed to buy them, he's 99% sure he's going to sell them now.

I spoke to AP racing and there is no major issues with spacers, just the fact about..
wheel bearings (non issue really)
wheel clearence on full lock
and wheel rubbing

If you need the spacers, I'd be tempted to go for some slightly thicker ones and get the hubcentric ones

otherwise you'll always be thinking about that strange wobble at speed and wondering if the wheel's going to come off or not ......... or at least now you will

Dunno where's best to get them .... but if you find them before I do let me know, cos I want them now [B)]

GSF mate :)

put the part numbers on the online shop search. Good prices.

Will it mess with the handling at all having 20mm wider track at the front?
