View Full Version : VW seats into Ibiza?

I'd really like to change the seats in my ibiza to a more modern looking/darker set.

As my interior is all black apart from the seats which are a horrible tweedy grey!

I'm presuming that mk4 polo seats should go straight in?

My current seats dont have a split fold option - will it matter if I get some that are?

Its been suggested that mk3 golf seats may also fit. I can see the fronts fitting, but what about the rears?

Cheers, Adam.

Split rears need a hinge mount welded to the floor between the backrest sections AFAIK.

which you won't have (like mine) but you do have the mounting point for the front squab - how weird is that.

Squab hinge = part of shell
backrest hinge = extra weld-on

Presumably? Didn't know that before you poited it out tho.

So can I fit the split fold rear seats or not?

I'm not that fussed if they dont fold down properly, but they'd have to stay up.

Would it be hard to weld this bit in place - is it a special piece or just a bent bit of metal with some holes drilled in?

If the metal bit was easy enough to fabricate then my mate could weld it on for nowt.

Will the seat release mechanisms (pull up nob thingy) be the same?

You might be able to cut the hinges off the Polo and weld them on the Beezer.

Don't know about the catches, but they can't be that different, surely?

Not sure about the rears. but I fitted the Recaro's out of a Golf Mk3 in the ibiza I had.
