Today at the Service Garage, I noticed an early 2001 Ibiza 20 V T . Mine is 2002 , so I went over to check on it.
The cars looked the same but his car was wearing Michelin. Mine has Pirelli, so I wanted to see if his recommended tire presures were any different than mine. Nope, sticker looked different but same recommendation - 33 front, 32 rear. But on his fuel sticker SEAT recommended 95/98 octane while on mine SEAT recommends 95 !
So who has got it wrong?

Hey Primekart,
Mine is a 2001 and has the aforementioned sticker. It's all the same - The car requires unledded fuel - be it 95 or 98 octane.I started out for the first monthe with 95, and then switched over to 98(after nearly being bone dry on the 95 stuff, of course:)).
The car does seem to 'breath' better and does get a bit better mileage . . . It's your choice really . .
Noam.
P.S
Who knows what you really get in the 98 octane - It's an Israeli gas station - don't forget:):)

Right,
the year you are stating would be what? The build year? If so, then how is it 2002 when we aint got there yet?
Mine was bought brand new in about June or something and it has Pirelli's on it yeh and is the same as the ones that are brand new in the show room now, but it was clearly built in 2001, as we are in 2001 are we not..?? have I missed a year?
It is surely the 2001/2 model as it will span through those two years, but not simply the 2002 model..??
Enlighten me please..

The years I have mentioned are the "year models". As you know, the manufacturer changes the year model VIN prefix around June. So every SEAT imported to Israel in July was registered as a 2002 year model. Basicaly, the cars are the same.
best way to check is the chassis no
vsszzz6kz * r123456 the star will be a number on 2001 cars on , 1 for 2001 2 for 2002 etc etc
previous to this it was letters TVWXY then 12 etc
main reason is that you will find most cars are registered anything up to 3 months after the official build date so most cars get NEW SPECS early so they are on site in time so to speak
using the chassis no a parts guy should be able to tell you within 1 month when it was built

Looks to me that the Sticker Boy is picking them quite randomly!

The sticker guy had one too many San Miguels on that day obviously..!!! lmao..
95 - 98 Ron is what they need.. nothing more, nothing less.. although can you run aviation fuel in it..?? what would that do for performance.?? lol (jokin)
