Well, I've finally done it.
I placed my order for my Ibiza Sport TDI 130 !
After reading all the good comments about it on here, I just had to do it.
I'm importing from Wim pruijs in Holland, so just gotta wait a little while now :o
But I'm getting Xenons, Winter pack, Rain Sensor pack, and ESP so it should be worth the wait !
Looking forward to becoming a member of the TDI 130 club....
mb
Nice!
Great motor, I would love to join you but I have insurance problems for another year, caused by the morning after the night before!!

Not trying to put a dampner on it, but, you may find that you will not be able to get some of the options you have specified. Once my order reached the factory they said no to the winter pack, and eventually I was told it would take a month longer because of the xenons.
Hopefully yours will be OK, but better forewarned.
So are you holding on for it or cancelling then Robertio?

Nice one muddyboots. You will have to play catchup on the PD130 bit with some people on here though. I think I have finally decided to go for it so Richard if you are reading this thread expect a call soon.

Oh well, if that does happen, it'll just be even cheaper...!
Wim placed the order with Seat this morning; so far so good...

Woohoo
My car's been built, and it's at the dealer in Holland, in a two-week queue for pre-delivery inspection gubbins.
Not long now !!!
That's quick!
Do you know if you have all the options you asked for yet?

Its not a Uk spec car then as the xenons are ilegal in the UK without a washer system, that why we dont get it as an option. you will find that at best your car will not be able to get an MOT in 3 years. You might even find its difficult to get past customs!!
Not to get you worried or anything!!

To be legal in the UK & elsewhere it needs the washing system & auto-leveling.
muddyboots-
It's an awesome little car. Good luck with it & give REVO a call

Re: Xenons & washers
Now you all tell me !!!
Oh well, I'll just have to plumb in two washer nozzles below the headlights, come MOT time ;-)
Re: Quick time
Yes, it's far earlier than I expected. I'd been led to expect a 5-6 months wait, by which time I'd have paid off the loan on my current car ! My girlfriend - who thought I should wait another year or two and pay off my debts - thinks it's all a conspiracy now, and that I new it would arrive this quickly all along...!
Re: Options
Wim hasn't confirmed yet, but I think I've got the options I wanted except for the Winter pack (which means no headlamp washers - doh!).
He's gonna email me some photos tomorrow, so I can see what's what before I transfer the cash...
Re: Revo
I've ordered it with the Seat "Power Upgrade" fitted. Not as powerful as the Revo upgrade I know, but it maintains the manufacturers warranty and I'm sure it'll keep me happy. The Revo upgrade sounds good but I would be worried about long term drivetrain effects on running it with such high power & torque outputs - as I intend keeping it for 4 years then I'd rather play a bit safer. After all, I though my Rover 220 SDi was quick ;-). I'm hoping as well that being factory fitted, it might not affect my insurance too much (I will find out for sure soon !!!).

Out of interest, can anyone point me to the regulations about Xenons and washers etc so I can have a read ???

The reason i have brought this up is that i have seen pics of Beezers with HID lamps and it didnt look to me like they had the headlamp washing system. They prob had the auto leveling (as most cars have something similar)
Just an observation from the Seat Ibiza broucher that i saw.
Could be wrong!!
Probably am!!!!!!
Ok i'm trying to find the EU regulation for the Xenon's.

We don't have the winter pack option available hear in Portugal, but the xenon equipped cars still come with the wasing system.

I just dont understand why they wouldnt have it as an option on the UK cars as it would be very popular..
Excuse my ignorance but what is the winter pack?

Winter pack = headlamp washing + heated seat + I think the auto windscream washer.
Winter pack 2 adds the hot babe with a mug of hot chocolate:D

Hopefully I will be able to see whether they have washers tomorrow, when Wim sends me some photos. Presumably I'm looking for something in the bumper under the headlight ??
It seems like a strange requirement in UK that Xenon-equipped cars must have headlamp washers.
Why is this ? I'd have thought that it should be equally applicable to non-Xenon equipped cars too. Or have I missed something ?

It's not a UK requirement, it's required everywhere except maybe afganistan & iraq ;)
You might not be able to spot it as I think most systems are now hidden (only pop up when on)

Well i am looking at the UK Ibiza Brochure righ now which shows the car with Xenon HID lamps and a we caption saying (not available in the UK)
And there is NO i repeat NO headlamp washer system (hidden or otherwise) unless its a button that prods some female to walk round to the front of the car with a can of Mr Sheen!!!
I thought that when I looked at the brochure.
unless the entire front bumper comes out Bond stlye and reveals missiles.
erm.. I mean washers

Well if you look at my last post I'm referring to MB's comment:
".....It seems like a strange requirement in UK that Xenon-equipped cars must have headlamp washers....."
my response was (to that question) :

If the car's got OE HID that it's got headlamp washer system installed
That's all I'm saying :p

Nice pic but its hardly ivisible!!
I dont have a scanner or i would post the pic ron the Seat Brochure ALL I AM saying is that the Ibiza does not have/or they are so well hidden they have been air brushed out!!!! Headlamp Washers!!!!!
Does anyon have a TDI Beezer with HIDs to clear up the confusion!!!.
And if they do have self leveling + Washers WHY cant we get them in the UK????????
That all!!

Doesn't mean the one in the brochure is correct either! My toledo (or any for that matter) didn't come with the dark tinted glass as displayed in the brochure!

Fair enough, but it has the HID lamps(easy to spot) so you would really have to assume that it should have the washers.
Will have to see if replies who actually has one.
I'm on GPRS just now so I don't want to search, but Flashred has Xenons IIRC. There are loads of piccies of his car around (Ibiza forum?). Also one (or both) of the two Italian ones posted last week may have Xenons
The Beezer in the brochure is lowered and has rear wheel spacers according to a post I read on here a while ago.

Hopefully Wim should be emailing me some photos today, so we should be able to see.
Even if they're "hidden", the washers should be visible (if that makes sense!).

If you dont mind me asking what kind of saving are you getting over buying from the UK as i am looking at getting one soon.
I'll still be searching for the EU & DOT regulations regarding the HID stuff.

The UK model lists at £13,495 with no options (not even met. paint!).
And as you probably know, the only options are Met. paint and SatNav.
Mine's coming in at just under £13,000 including the following options:
Metallic Paint
Xenon Headlights
ESP
Rain Sensor Pack
Winter Pack (don't think I managed to goet this though)
Seat "Power Upgrade"
If you just want basic UK spec I guess you'd probably be looking around £11000-11500, at the current exchange rate. If the exchange rate improved back to what it was a few months back, you might get it under £11000. You can see the latest rate here (http://focus.comdirect.co.uk/en/detail/_pages/charts/main.html?sSymbol=DEURGBP.TGT&sTimeframe=1Y)
There's other non-UK options available too, like 5 doors, leather interior, and electric sunroof.
Those prices include a discount that Wim gives to UK importers.
You have to pay a hefty deposit with your order (about £2000).
When it's arrived you pay the Dutch price (IE no VAT).
Then a little while (2 or 3 weeks IIRC) after you've registered it you get a bill for the VAT (on mine this will be just under £2000).

Damn now I'm really jealous.
Can you get a xenon kit separately in other countries ?
I just thought of something after reading Rage's post, how do the headlamps work out when U guys are importing??
I mean shouldn't the flare in output be to the left side (the flared output goes to the right on the continent).

Est Win!!!!
No one was disputing the nead to have Headlamp washers we all knew that it was a requirement...
But the fact still remains the ARE NONE REPEAT NONE AS IN ZERO AS IN THEY DONT EXIST ON THE CAR PICTURED IN THE SEAT UK BROCHURE AND IT HAS HID headlamps. I think thats all i ever said in this thread
Not sure about which way the dip will work. If its not a UK spec then i would assum it will dip to the right..
But muddy glad you have them lucky begger. I might get them retro fitted to my one..Yes thats right i just put a deposit on one 2 hours ago!!!

Still trying to figure out how import guys run with LHD lights?

Simple they shouldnt, LHD light will seriously impare other drivers (especially HID) they potentially could cause accidents. Insurance companies will not be impressed. As will other road users!!
Maybe get those lables that stick onto the lights when you go abroad.

Hey, calm down about the headlamp washers chaps !
Regarding using Xenons on RHD models.
I did ask Wim early on (before I placed my order) whether they are aligned for use in UK, where we drive on the left.
He said they were....so I'm assuming (and hoping!) he's correct.
Do any other EU countries drive on the right ??
Not sure how you achieve the alignment with Xenons, as normal headlamps either use lensed glass, or shaped reflectors.
The Xenon lights look like they work a bit differently.
Maybe someone's got a bit more tech knowledge on this, and could explain ????
Cheers
mb
I think the manual states that you should take them to the dealer to be aligned the right way - but I think it is just a lever.
You lucky, lucky....

I am considering a HID conversion. Small matter of about £800...Mmmm may be next year..
Unfortunately I can't laugh too hard - mine look like that as well

OK maybe I got a bit carried away:redface: Sorry.
No other european country drives with RHD. As Slim mentions, HID is very powerful so you need to be careful with alignment.
To bad about the yellow surrounds. I'm sorry I must admit a giggle!
Maybe you can replace them?
Slim what do you get for £800 ?

You get a HID lamp kit. For the 4 headlamps 4 6000k bulbs 4 power packs all wiring n stuff. But no washers..
To de honest the washers are a bit of a gimick, as they still do not clean the lenses properly.
Washer would be easy to fit, connected to the front windscreen washers. The auto leveling is also a bit of a joke. I am perfactly able to twiddle the leveling knob manually!!
But to be honest, they are just abit out my price range. Its going to have to be Philips Vision + for me. About £750 cheaper!!!
Local dealer tried to sort out those colourful surrounds on their demonstrator. They got them off but couldn't get them back on properly. They advised get a new panel and having that sprayed. They commented that it would be ~1hr to take it off and ~1hr to put it back.
So far I have learnt to ignore them.

I'll try to ignore them if I can then.
Otherwise, maybe the permanent black marker idea isn't so daft after all ! :D

Check the first picture of the black car here (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14151) it has washers that pop up out of the bumper.
I like the yellow dials. They should have done the air vents as standard and it might have been better to match them to body colour rather than blue body / yellow surrounds (but then mine do ;) ). That said the chrome ones in the comfort pack look better.
Sod you all, I like my yellow surrounds :p :D ;)
They do lack co-ordination with anything else in the car, until you paint the vent surrounds then it looks quite good.
Well, it looks like the Back Hole of Calcutta in there without anything to break the interior up...
Has everybody checked these out; :yikes:

Probably. And chances are I won't get it. I'm waiting fo the Cupra to be released so I can get the kit off that. After all I'll have more ponys under the lid ;)
