My insurance is up for renewal in march and im trying to get realistic quotes from places. Ive spent ages talking to various companies that vow they 'wont be beaten on price' . So far most ive spoken to have quoted me more than Im paying.

Anyone got any ideas of whos good? Im 23 4yrs no claims with SP30 (3 Points).

For my SEAT Ibiza Cupra R 2001.

Ive tried

Budget - £1600 FC
RBS - £1400 FC
Tesco - £888 FC
RAC - Wont Insure me
Hastings - Wont Insure me
Priveledge - Wont Insure me
More Than - Wont Insure me:cry:
Elephant (my current insurers) - £742
Admiral - £680 FC  Best so far

Have you given Adrian Flux a call?

Quinn Direct were the best for me.

Is it worth trying confused?

I always use them and get a decent enough price, but then I am knocking on 32's door!

I strongly suggest NOT going with Admiral or any of there group if you have mods... you might get a cheaper quote but they make you pay higher prices for mods, but WON'T replace them... it's a right con..

GSI on 01227 772775 they have given me a couple of good quotes.. something like £1k and £400 excess for me on a fully moded Biza.. I'm 22 with 3yrs NCB, SP30 (3 points) & a write off in August last year. (altho the most recent quote I got from them wasn't brilliant.. I think it depends how "bothered" they can be... but it's worth a try)

TBH tho mate looking at your quotes they are pretty good...

Hastings, Priveledge & More Than dont seem to like people with points... ever since I got mine, I could never get any quotes with them...

Admiral have by far been the best and were pretty good with my mods however I ddint like the fact that they said their insurance doesnt allow dumpvalves:wtf: .

At end of the day If I go with them Ill just keep my standard bosch one handy incase. Gonna keep shopping around tho, Im gonna try Adrian Flux. Its been hard as Im at work so can only do online quotes at the moment, alot of places need me to ring them.

If you go with admiral their 10 month bonus insurance doesn't count as a ncb with other companies.

TBH I wouldn't tell em about the DV because it's not going to do anything really... i.e. performance wise.. it's just an "upgrade" from stock lol... the bosch ones are "dodgy" lol

When I wrote off my biza.. i lost loads of money cause I couldn't strip off the mods.. all the mods were fine... companies like Adrian Flux are annoying cause you need to tell them everything about everything, but hopefully if you do have an accident then you'll get your moneys worth you know..

I know what you mean about getting quotes.. lunch ain't long enough and at the end of the day you just can't be bothered.

Good luck mate, I'm sure you'll find a decent priced one soon enough :D

Have you got any points?

I put it down to points, cause I had quotes from them before I got mine..

I guess being 31 with no mods, clean licence and an incident free record makes a bit of difference...

My age has been a factor with a few places, Although ive got 4 yrs no claims, being under 25 alot of people just wont insure me which is frustraiting
