daz hello, how much would a main dealer charge me to disarm my airbags? i'm trying to weigh up the cost of repair /replacement as my airbag light is staying on .i presume it is done via the ecu so not possible to do diy style.any help please.:cheers:
normally approx an hours labour , mind you it normally only applies to the passenger one , as for wether they'll do it or not will depend on the dealer as it is a VERY GREY legal area @ present thanks to the americans drivin without belts on etc .
WARNING : without tryin to start a war or argument be advised when airbags are fitted that wearing a setbelt is MANDATORY and could possibly stop ya neck gettin broken by the air bag etc etc etc
sorry dont wanna preach too much its just i lost 2 mates from airbags and NO BELTS , cant see the problem myself i actually prefer to wear em (maybe i just slide the cars round too much ) BE SAFE
cheers daz ,my missus is giving me greif to get it repaired rather than removed so i'm stuck between a rock and a hard bitch,i too feel the need to wear a belt at all times even in the 14 tonne lorry i drive but not a big fan of airbags as i'm a midget,and it's a case of safe distance from wheel and not reaching the pedals or feeling ok driving and risk getting my head taken off.

i see ya point mate , and to be honest I HATE airbags they are always there along with all the other SAFETY aids etc , again just wishing ALL cars were basic again so IDIOTS learnt how to drive instead of having a conference over the 3 lanes they own @ anyone time
ps if anyone gets upset by me today i apologise (see LEON post) its just been a LONG LONG day ....... not in the mood for crap today
