most likely a problem with the GPS aerial unit.

fraid not mate. I think its a trip to the dealers nearest you. If you do a search on SATNav issues on this forum site, you'll find quite a few posts with the same issues, they may be able to advise on cost a bit more than me as I've never had that problem.

Is it worth doing a hard reset i.e. unplug the thing, leave it for about 10 mins and reconnect?? Just a thought, it works on Jets...

think it may be a loose connection in the unit on top of the vehicle but worth a "reboot" to check!

Hey Greganory,

Are you the new owner of this 'project' 2001 V5 at PVW ?? :D

If so, I'm really glad my old 20V V5 is going to be put to some good use.

So, what plans do you have ?

Re : the sat nav - it stopped recieving sats about 6 months ago - then worked for a while then stopped again. I checked the aerial at the back of the head unit and it was secure - I 'think' it needs a new roof antenna unit. VAG-COM showed eveything to be OK on the navigation module but I'm not sure to what extent it checks the antenna circuit if at all. Good luck.

Cheers,
Stu

My last leon had the Satnav and had the same problem, my dealer replaced the cable and GPS on the roof and it resolved it, cost over £200 though. A cheaper option is to get a GPS aerial to put on the dash and cable down to the HU, this would cost around £30 plus fitting or you could do it yourself... It will definately be the GPS lead or antenna, common problem...
