Hi,

Hope you dont mind me posting here considering I drive a golf, but here goes.

I've been offered the above box with flywheel and housing and want to know if its suitable in terms of fitment to my MK3 ABF engine and also the existing mounts, and also if the ratios are anything decent as I cant find any info about them. The car is use mainly for trackdays (and getting to them) and has been modified with headwork and cams if that makes any difference

Cheers

Chris

No we don't mind :)

You'll find ratios here (http://www.seat.com/tech_tablas/leon.htm), but remember that 6-speed box has 2 layshafts:- one for 1st to 4th and one for 5th & 6th.

With the kph/1000rpm and rolling radius data you can calculate the final drive ratio for the 5th / 6th shaft, but no idea about 1st-4th.

As to whether it will fit your engine......erm.....not a scooby. :(

If a Golf mkIV 5-speed will fit, then I'd assume a 6-speed will too, but it's just an assumption........

would the long turbo ratios be suitable for a revvy 16v motor? also as the 6 speed will NOT fit a beezer, surely it uses mk3 golf chassis legs, so fit is bound to be similar?? just my thoughts.
