I have got a Alhambra 2L petrol 1996 and i have got no central locking /alarm and the interior lights don't come on when doors are opened also the red led doe's not flash i am wondering if anyone can tell me if the main central locking control unit has gone i have checked the fuses in the fuse box i don't know if there are any other fuses elsewhere. Also where will i find this control unit as to check if the wires have a good contact in the unit itself.

ecu for the central locking is under the front passenger seat! but as you say the LED has stopped working and yet the car is still going? check the loom to the drivers door for breakages? s along with the central locking/alarm ecu drowning!

I have checked the central locking and alarm ECU, and i have found that it has got wet! one of the little pins has corroded and broke from the ecu plug socket, and a wire has broken out of the plug it self any ideas where i can find a new ecu from. I am going to check wiring in drivers door this weekend just to see if i have any more broken wires in the door itself.

if you need a new one, these guys have a good reputation  http://www.vagcomponents.co.uk/products.asp?d=8&c=20
how ever you can remove the ECU from it's enclosure! check it for damage corrosion? clean it and see if you can jury rig it and see if it will work again?
