my car went in last week to Race Power Motorsport in/near borough green.

do to them having 2 cars in the work shop and some one drop off a race engine a week earlier than expected they haven’t done much work on the car.

they told me they took it to the dyno which made 304bhp... :( i was shocked.

then i remembered i set the revo sps3 settings to low boost 4 which would be the reason for such loss of power (i set it to low boost 4 as i didn’t want to boost it every where before the car went in) it made last time on the BF SMIC and high boost 9 323bhp so i am pretty sure the full boost on the eurojet FMIC would have made more power than last time, but is a pain as i wont find out.

any way they said they are going to start on it this week and will be finished in about 2 weeks.

the following work is going to be done

Rebuild the gearbox (due to very bad and loud 1st gear)
Fit the pelequin diff to the box
G60 flywheel, and fit the spec stage 2 clutch.
Fit the supertech inconel exhaust valves and the stainless steel intake valves
Bore the engine to 83mm (around 1.9ltr)
Port and polish the head
Fit the JE 83mm 9.5:1 20mm WP pistons
Fit the scat rods

and the other little bits like plugs, gaskets, water pump, cambelt etc.

not sure if any one here has dealt with RPM but all i hear is nothing but praises.

ill keep and update and progress, though ill prob leave them to get on with the job and not hassle them for 2 weeks.

any questions or queries ill be happy to answer.

 :funk: [B)] [:@] :-o

Nice stuff you got there !! I would have gone for pauter rods instead, but still they look strong enough to hold some serious power. What bhp have you got in mind ? My only concern is the stage 2 spec clutch, it's not lasting you much, i know from past experience. A stage 3 or stage 3+ would do the job, and still be very very streetable. Just my opinion buddy

myk3
04-04-2007, 17:25
i think the spec stage 2 will be more than enough for up to 350 pounds of torque

The MoffMeister

just wondered did you upgrade the injectors? as im looking at that now?

04-04-2007, 19:08
myk3 im still waiting on my clutch and diff! they had to wait for the diff as they were out of stock at manufactuers!

will soon be ordering the pistons and rods!

what postage price would you reccomend to have put on the box for import reasons?

HoocH

m0rk
04-04-2007, 19:11
what it's worth?

I just paid £8 duty on some injectors that were written up sub $50, but totally missed paying any on the turbo & manifold

h17och
04-04-2007, 19:36
over £1000 as i ordered 2 diffs!

how did you manage to avoid paying on the mani and turbo?

HoocH

The MoffMeister

think if the say its gift you can get away with it!

also what cc injectors for this gt28rs??

also im sorry but what is a harness? im doing conversion in a couple of months so need to get loads of info for it!

m0rk
04-04-2007, 20:14
C&E aren't stupid regarding gifts - and you're still liable to pay import duty & VAT on them.

Sometimes they miss it though.

Injectors will depend on your mapper. 550's are what Revo use, which require a small wiring harness

With just 280lbft torque and 350bhp from my 16v I burnt a spec stage 3 clutch, not once but twice, that's why I'm concerned about the stage 2 !!. I solved the problem by ordering a full billet p/plate instead of the usual cast one, and ordered it with 2 springs instead of one. The pedal feels much harder to press but worth the sacrifice. Goodluck !!

I've run 390bhp to 517bhp on spec stage 3+, zero issues.
not launching on drag tyres mind you, road tyres on mine which smoke nicely.

the harnesses are used to adapt the standard plug so you need to order them. much like a 2 pin to 3 pin power cable (EU to UK) for e.g.

i am and have been using my std clutch on revo stage 2 for around 25k miles and another 10 or so on this setup so far with no issues with clutch slip, also im not doing any harsh launches that you may be doing!?

well its a risky game on what to declare it as. all of my internal parts where declared as $100 shipped with USPS, i find that usps never get caught in customs when items are lowered for some reason. never infact where as fedex i have every time.

at the end of the day you can declare it as a really low price and if on the extreme unlikly event of ther package going missing you will loose you money :(

its the risk you have to take if you want to or not.

The MoffMeister

myk3 i mailed your mate with regards to the clutch etc seems reasonable just the cost of postage is going to be the stinger, he can provide me with one that can handle 385lbs of torque, do you reckon that'll be enough for gt28rs??

mOrk im more than likely to be using an APR remap as their only down the road so that'll be best but i'll see if i have to get the harness then, cheers

myk3
05-04-2007, 14:58
will apr do a remap for this turbo? and yah that is a spec stage 2 and will be enough IMO

The MoffMeister
05-04-2007, 15:08
as far as i know they do yeah, they joined APR to produce the tuning software for the gt28rs i thinks!!

myk3

05-04-2007, 20:20
strectch, i asked him how much the extra postage would be to add another clutch to my order and he said it would be the same price as sending it on its own so sorry mate, cant help

The MoffMeister
05-04-2007, 20:50
nice one hooch didnt realise you would but thanx alot mate am looking i uk for clutches to but he seems quite reasonable,

when i install my turbo im going to get a check sheet on here and make sure i have everything i need before i start bet theres loads i dont know about lol

350/350 i guess would be nice. gas flowed head and ~100cc bore is on only power booster really from the list of things to do.

the rest is for reliability and a Diff which should be nice

myk3
25-04-2007, 14:53
the whole car is now running, and they have taken it for a test drive.

now they have to just get the air con refilled and take it on another 20 mile drive till they are happy to give it back.

i should be picking it upday.

Nice!!

Gonna order the APR inlet manifold for mine.

Going 1.9 with uprated internals. Also will change the FMIC at the same time.

As it stands the car is in a different league. Back at Awesome on Friday for some tweaks.:funk:

yes going to run it in for a 1000 miles or so, and do around 2 oil changes in the process.

im picking it up tomorrow now for sure.

it was still out later this afternoon on a test run and having the air con refilled.
