McVickers Rally and RR centre today
Car was revving very well, was an oldish style readout (Dials with no printout, but its on camera and eng sheet)
car was hitting 120-124bhp atw on runs at 6000 rpm with still another 1000 revs left, bloke said that he was more than happy with the figures but im a little disappointed that he didnt redline it to see just what extra it had.
Had the top 16v figures on the day with only a VR6 corrado ahead as it always was gonna be.
managed to be a couple of horsies ahead of a couple of 16vers with headwork/flowing etc. should be published in rabbit mag next issue as they had two peeps over doing pics and writeups. :D

cant remember exactly what it was, tho i think the vr was 145.5 or 149.5 !!!!! pristine condition, oldinsh fella who only takes it out once every so often.
I was stood behind it at full chat, i was finding it hard to stand up straight with the pressure of the exhaust!! think its flywheel was between 191.5 and 195.5bhp
your name was also mentioned during the day as a jetta and ibiza owner!!, bill your name gets about!! :D

Yes mate i was well chuffed with my results especially as i said earlier that it wasnt even pushed to the limiter tho i dunno what more was left after 6000 rpm.
the chart drawn up by the bloke running the RR goes as follows..
gear . 4th
bhp atw 120+
speed revs bhp
30 1500 26
38 2000 39
46 2500 50
54 3000 60
62 3500 72
70 4000 84
80 4500 99
88 5000 104
96 5500 113
104 6000 120
- 6500 ???
- 7000 ???
the vr corrado bloke seemed happy enuff with his readout, but approaching 45hp (ish) in losses seems a fair amount to take on the chin, id be even more happy if mine was like that too tho i dont pretend to claim that my 16v is in the same league as his motor. In tranny losswise, how much does the 16v give away? reason im asking is, some of the cgti members there were telling me beforehand that anything over 115 atw would be quite healthy for the abf engine and im trying to figure out whether the 3 basic mods fitted (sportstek exhaust, SS ind pipe and piperx ind kit) were having a decent effect.
bound to be some funny pics coming round soon, there was 4 people having to stand on mine, the vr6 corrado and the 16v corrado !
moment of the day was when a golf 1.4 managed to top 40brake atw, such a cheer went up!! heheh:D
For reference, my old Corrado VR6 measured 160bhp at the wheels on 3 seperate rolling roads with an AmD chip.

and you got rid of it because........... :D
yea mate ive no doubt that this vr6 would enjoy an amd chip just the same. Cool watching the rear spoiler extending once it started motoring above 70 or so!!

Err, it cost me £22K in 2 years!
£4.5K in repairs and servicing alone and that's with a fair chunk of my own labour.
Planning another as 2nd/track day car though now money situation has dramatically improved... :)

22k is ferkin steep, i worked out how much my car cost me last year and it was about the same as your divided in two, insurance being 2k was one of the larger parts, then payments (roughly 2400), then petrol (i use it for work as im a field engineer25k last year, doesnt sound like much but mostly city driving with daily runs on motorway back to the office), tyres, tax and services also cost a fair few bob too. but this year its costing me a fair bit less as im not going a little easier on the juice in turn is also better on mpg and insurance is a little lower.
