The Inspection and Maintenance plan supplied with my Leon TDi 110 states;

Every 60,000 km (40k miles)

Spark Plug replace
Toothed Belt for camshaft drive : Replace (only TDI engine with injection pump)
Toothed Belt tensing roller : replace (only TDI engine with injection pump)

Is the "TDI engine with injection pump" the pumpe dusse TDi engine?
Do the glow plugs need replacing at 40,000 miles?

Thanks for your help.

Hey Deano - long time no hear :)

Injection pump is indeed PD....however I can remember Swinny/Flapper yonks ago confirming Amethyst's (remember them? ) policy of 40K for 110 engine as well.... wouldn't bother personally.

Glow plugs should last beyond 40K, but I'd have to check manual.

Hi Mik,
Hope you and your Leon are well mate? Guess what - still no chip and no alloys - no bloody money to spend on the car apart from the servicing. Still doing the 120 mile a day commute and still feel the need to buy a Scooby. Some things never change :).

I've been wondering if the plugs will be changed as it's only the Gas Filter and plugs that differ from the inspection service. I've been quoted £186 for my 40k service (£66 more than my last inspection service) which would seem about right for a set of plugs and a gas filter.

Thanks for confirming that the PD engine is the "injection pump TDi".
This means that the normal TDi engine timing belt is due for a change at 60k miles service. Seems like an awful long time to wait for a belt change. I'm thinking of getting the belts and pulleys done at the next 50k service for piece of mind and to spread the cost a bit. Any thoughts?

May the yuletide log block your toilet:eek: :D

You could do it at 50K if you're keen, but I wouldn't worry about leaving it 'til 60K personally. There should be plenty of safety margin in that...... :)
