Since the new numberplates have come out the gov have introduced some new rules regarding numberplates... things to do with the spaceing, font etc and now the company that made the plates even have to put their postcode on the bottom of the plate in tiny letters!

Anyway, I've got the numberplate "MR 51EAT" on my Ibiza (My surname is Sleat obviously)... but with the standard spacing it looks like "MR51 EAT" which is no good.

So, does anyone know of a plate maker that would space the latters how I want them? Preferable a company on the internet or someone in the SouthEast.

Thanks
Ben

be carefull ben - if the police deem the plates to be of mis-representation they can take the number away from you.

NOOO... It's my ball and I'm not playing.. I'm going home to tell my mum...

That sort of thing.?? That sounds about right for some of the police. If you don't play nicely you won't play at all and we'll take it off you.. lol

I want a cherish plate for my car but can't think of anything I like.. Quite fancied something like my nick name.. (Scoobz - incase you hadn't guessed.. that isn't my 'real' name lol)

S40 OBY or S7O OBY are available I think.. (were). but there isn't really a decent way to get anything really close.

All the possible variations of Cupra have gone (ie. C11 PRA etc.)
I am stuck what to look for.

Just browsing this forum for info on Seats for a friend and saw this thread and can help.

Yes its against the law to have plates with improper spacing but loads of people do it like myself and Police seem to turn a blind eye to it provided you haven't misrepresented the charactors e.g. using Italics or moving the screws to change the appearance of letters.

When they do stop you, you will get a producer style thing where you have 14 days to change your plate and get a stamp from an MOT testing station £3 to prove you have sorted everything.

I got my plates from www.gtgrafix.co.uk bit pricey though at £28 but they can do a lot of stuff like ghosting etc.

Cheers

Ive just bought SJ02OVT and was going to space it SJO 20VT
as this represents my name and the car ie my name being Steve Johnson and the Car being a cupra 20VT. I work in a garage so plate spacing is no problem for me! I just make my own!

Thanks for the warning Graham.... but hopefully the police shouldn't have too much of a problem with it as the plate will still be just as clearly readable and I haven't tried to make any characters look like other characters etc. But yes I would be well pissed if they took it off me!!!

Thanks for the links guys... I'll sort some plates out this week! :)
