Which would you go for?

The Pagids come with 8 or 16 grooves (circa £115 and £150) for less of a cheese-grater effect than Tarox (million groove) ones. The EBC (circa £130 ish) ones have grooves and are kinda x-drilled (not right through, so should be less prone to cracking). Both suitable for modified or track use applications and similarly priced.

Been quoted an extotionate fitted price for EBC discs :( from AMD (IMO)

they may say they can be used for track stuff but if you read the small print they will no doubt say any damage occured during track days is not covered by the warrenty. also most disc makes don;t cover damage to discs if you use another pad make

Cheers Vibrio, I know that ;) I'm looking for a good fast-road application which won't disintegrate the moment I brake from over 100mph on a track and can manage a few heavy footed moments - consistently.

I'm currently on Pagid FR 8 grooves on mine, they're good - not too cheese grator like & have not lunched the pads too quick.

If you need them fitting ed, let me know - nice easy job

Jase,

Can you get the just the EBC Turbogroove discs (280mm), how much for a front pair?

Mark,

Might have to take you up on that. I asked for a break down of a fitted price from AMD who wanted £169+VAT for the discs then £55+VAT for labour!! A lot more expensive than I was thinking!

I changed the stock pads to greenstuff just over a year ago and racked up 12k miles on em. They're groaning now and need replacing. Changing the rear pads is a b***h when you ain't got the right tools!

I'll leave the rears a couple of months.

Cheers,

Ed

£55+vat for an hours work - they must have thought they're a main dealer by mistake

EBC disks are noisy in operation.
Not impressed by the quality of finish either.

I would go PAgid grooved & pagid FR pads.
