My quote was with Greenlight :D

Neil - would the premium increase if I had tints out of interest?

No mate if you decide to take the quote with us just tell us when calling to pay that the vehicle has window tints it will not change the premium.

If our quotes a lot cheaper you could always look to cancel the policy, even with charges we may still be cheaper.

Looking at those details I should be able to get it for you around £960. Give us a try when your policy comes up for renewal and i'll sort you out a quote.

The only thing that may cause a problem is the de-cat, we may need you to have a "sports cat" fitted for us to be able to quote. All vehicles after 1993 require a catalyst by law and insurers cannot cover a vehicle if they know its not road worthy/legal.......Not sure if this applies to diesel models as well as petrol though?

If you would like to get a quote to give you an indication you could complete your details on our website www.greenlightinsurance.com and i'll e-mail you back a figure.

Thats not a bad price, under our new "Free Re-map" scheme I would expect to be able to get it for around £400.

Thanks, i'll do that.
Quick question though..... Is the FREE REMAP offer a one off (1st year only) or does it remain for the length of the policy with you (years down the line?)

Once added it will remain as long as you are insured with us as you will be on the Free Re-map policy.

Neil - will adding older drivers (parents) make any difference to the premium?

Also is there any option to increase the voluntary excess?

We offer the cheapest price for 'Owner Only' driving, we could probably add your parents to the policy as occasional drivers free of charge, but when insuring modified/performance cars we find the owner takes most care/pride with the vehicle.

Our excess are fixed with driver age and car group.

Neil,

Can you please advise why you are unable to quote on the Manchester area?

As far as I'm aware Geenlight are the only insurance company who aren't willing to insure my LCR in Manchester. Cheapest quote has so far been £880 (Direct Line).

Details are as follows...

05 reg LCR
M20 postcode
Drive Parking
6 years NCB
26 years old male
Driving with a full licence for 8.5 years
0 claims
0 convictions

Cheers

I have found the same problem with my Manchester post code :(

32 years old
License for 18 months
1 year NCB
Drive parking
1 claim (not my fault and recovered)
0 convictions or points
56 plate Leon FR TDI

£1300 :(

Insured at my parents house (TQ1 postcode) was £800!

In regards to Manchester postcode.

If our insurers pay out more in claims than they take in premiums for 3 years running they stop providing cover for these postcodes.

AL_G......Not that this helps but looking at your details if you were in a postcode sector we should expect a price of around £490.

Every Insurer/Broker has different claims experience so the other companies quoting you may not have had such a bad time in the M postcodes like us.

Sorry we are unable to help.

:lol::lol: My current insurer told me I should get the mods done then they would tell me how much my policy would be affected by!!

Apparently 'if I was serious about getting them done' then I wouldnt mind doing that.

And 'all insurance companies do it this way'.

Policy promptly cancelled!
