Hi, I've just bought a rear spoiler and side rubbing strips for my TDI. Can anybody advise me of where to get these painted and fitted in Dorset/Devon/Somerset? Also what the cost is likely to be. The car is Flash Red. Incidently I bought Lupo side moldings from my local VW dealer for £15 less than a Seat dealer was asking, it's worth shopping around!!

Hey how much did you pay for the rear spoiler coz it's about £250 oficially from Seat which I don't think is justified!

Partner got it for me for Christmas but I've found the receipt and it cost £98 from SMC Seat in Exeter, they dont have a body shop which is why I'm asking about getting it painted and fitted. They did quote £220 to arrange paint and fitting though I think or so i'm told. JON

I bought my Arosa hood spoiler for £90, and paid about £200 for spraying and fitting at my local dealer. My car's also flash red :o)

How much were the side mouldings and have you got/know of any photos of them?

The TDI does not have the body colour protection strips that you sport has got. Those are what I've bought. JON

Yeah, sorry - misunderstood your "side mouldings" terminology! My G.F has a base model Arosa without the side rubbing strips :o)

(..with the really light grey interior that gets marked by water) :o(

I've got that interior in my TDI it's really bad, don't know what the hell they were thinking of. I have a valet four times a year but it soon looks filthy again ( If you ever come across a smashed Lupo with black leather and no side airbags drop me a line). Bloke in the village is spraying and fitting my spoiler and strips for £60 we'll have to see how they look. JON

Yeah post some photos when they are done!

My gf's interior is really bad, no amount of foam cleaner can sort it. Is yours cleaned chemically when you have it valeted?

mmmm not sure what he uses. I had it done on Wednesday of this week actually and it was absolutly terrible, it's come back looking like new. I'm using those blue seat protectors now can't think of what else to do. 2003 Arosa has new seat trim i think.

Don't bother with a main dealer for this!! You'll be ripped off. Get the paint code and any local bodyshop can do this easily. Save yourself even more money and prime and prep it yourself before getting it painted and lacquered.

There's a guide for DIY plastic spoilers on the main site. Not the same ones but exactly the same principal. When I replaced a door I sourced a door and a local bodyshop paint matched it for me and did all the blending. Now looks better than it did and no fading at all.

Ring around for quotes, you'll find they'll vary dramatically; get a full break down, and see how they try and screw you over.

Yeah they have a black trim with a dark black/grey pattern in the centre - much better!
