View Full Version : Lean Cupra 4/Cupra R side skirts
Ha ha, me again! :p
Am looking at getting some Leon Cupra 4/R side skirts fitted to my MY02 Leon Cupra. Know the part numbers and everything, but was wondering if there's a SEAT garage out there that could order, spray up (Indigo blue [Toledo colour]) and fit them??
If not are there any good body shops that could spray up and fit them in Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey or in fact anywhere in the South!!
Is there anyone who's had them fitted and how've they gone about it?How do they actually fit in place? Are they screwed or clipped/stuck on? Thanks again... :)

Going through the process at the moment of having the side skirts fitted to my Leon. Be aware not all the fixing points are on the 02 and earlier cars, so it looks like they'll need to be bonded on. Some screw points are there, but most are not.
I'll know more in a few weeks, would of been fitting them this week, if it wasn't for the fact, SEAT parts bagged and labeled as right hand side skirt, actually contained a left hand side skirt, so i ended up with 2 left hand skirts. doh : nice one Pedro manyana manyana.
Mate speak to Kevin down at Great Covert Seat in Southampton. Tell him Nobber sent ya and that your from Seatcupra.net! :D

I'm also about to fit these. They're currently with the paintshop. After getting all the clips and fittings I'm not so sure about fitting myself now as there seem to be loads of bits and of course no instructions. Going by what Zboyd has said about lack of fixing points I may also go the bonding route if it makes life easier.
Can anyone give more details on the bonding products to use and where to get it, what to do with it. Mind you the paintshop guy seemed against the idea of bonding in case you needed to remove them but can't see a reason to do that use they get damaged.
I'd better get the paintshop to check I haven't got the 2 right hand skirts too as I didn't open the pack before dropping it off.
Neal, which paintshop did you use? How much did they charge to do the job...Nosey I know, but interesting info as I'm only over in Hampshire and if they're a good shop worth recommending....
I think it would be really interesting to know how you and Zboyd end up fixing them in place, where you need to bond them and what adhesives you use/or are recommended.
Hmmm, an interesting one! Keep up the posts guys, thanks for all the info...:D
I have them on the toledo as well. The missing fixing points where drilled and filled with undercoating (tar like liquid) before screwing into place. I didn't want it bonded because if you've got to get it repainted (as I already need to) it's a pain getting on and off.

Paintshop is in Burgess Hill and it's costing £300 for painting but thats the whole kit with bumpers too. I'll let you know what the quality is like once I pick it all up next week.
