I have searched all the old posts to find out what stereo is in my Ibiza 20vt but I can not find a definite answer. Is it the beta, which I think it, is or is it the aura or something else. I need to know as I am ordering a mp3 hard-disk changer and need the model as it connects to the CD changer input of the stereo.

Thanks

Brian

I'm not sure if it's a beta, I always thought that there was one model for the entire ibiza line.??
It's definetly not the aura (the aura is for the Leon & toledo ).

Thanks for the reply Paulo, the website that I am going to order the mp3 changer from lists 2 models of mp3 changer;

Beta/Aura
Scala

But is does not say which is for the ibiza, it just says that they do them for the ibiza!!

I know that the 2 radios available for the leon/toledo are the Brisa & the Aura. I'm sure one of the beeza guys can definitely tell you. You could also try pete (a.k.a ICE MAN) or

It's never any bother mate... Ask whatever you like ;)

As for the answer to your question I'm not sure. The reason being I didn't know there was a name on the Ibiza one.. The leon can definately be the Aura one...

However the changers are identical between the Ibiza and Leon. I sopld the changer from my Leon to an Ibiza 20vt owner and it worked perfectly. SO I would say you can order the one for the Aura without any problems :)

Its called a Dension DMP3 Player. Its got an 80 gig hard drive (or you can get it without HD and put your own 120 gig in!)
Its costs £399.99 for the Universal one and £439.99 for one that conects to the CD changer input of the Ibiza stereo, check out the links below.

I have contacted caraudiodirect.co.uk who are speaking with dension to try and find out if it will fit the Ibiza HU. caraudiodirect.co.uk said that it will fit but they just need to confirm.

This may be a silly question but would it also give you an RCA pre-out for ampidge?! :D

I looked into mp3 CD changers and almost bought one but I wanted alot of albums encoded at the highest bitrate possible and the harddrive versions are better IMHO.
I have looked at other mp3 HD changers, the other good one is the Neo car jukebox, box the dension beats it on features, support and price

Nobber I think it does, I have seen the manual and I am sure I remember seeing left & right pre-outs that are only used to connect into the back of the headunit, and seeing as the connection for the Ibiza is a CD changer cable they should be free to use.

The only problem being is you would have to use the satellite display of the changer to change the volume and apparently it is not just a knob or up/down button but instead its in the menu system of the satellite display, so instead of just turning a knob you will need to press a number of buttons just to change the volume. Other than this you should be OK slamming an amp straight on:)

Shock_Xe, that’s correct, the only thing that will be displayed on the headunit is track time etc, but that’s why there is a satellite display that comes with the package. I have already checked (by taking my ashtray/cigar lighter out) that the satellite display will fit actually in the ashtray (with a bit of cutting) in the ashtray slot under the flap, and the fit is just perfect. This means that I will just use the headunit to change the volume and skipping forward tracks and the display for everything else.

Apparently you can set up “radio stations” that contain something like 100 tracks and you can use the headunit to navigate these too, so the amount of control from the headunit is not to bad.
