What an excellent car!
At almost 73,000 miles and just over 3 years old, always 100% reliable, no rattles or squeaks. It looks lovely in it's dark "Indigo" blue when clean! So economical and comfortable.
Lately there is a slight knocking noise when it goes over bumps. Maybe it needs new dampers? Does anyone have an idea what causes that please?
My ibiza used to make a knocking noise when going over bumps turned out one of the wheels had come a bit loose. probably worth checking before forking out for dampers.
Dampers, bushes (anti-roll bar?) or even a broken ARB link if it has them, I'd say.

Thanks for taking the trouble to give me that information. Much appreciated!
I am horrified with some of the owner's reviews in www.carsurvey.org Some Leons really got pasted. I wish the new VW boss would do something about it. I love Seat cars and I only want them all to be assembled well.
Many thanks again!

Is it knocking from the front or the back?
Could be a suspension top mount.
Best thing to do is get dealer to look at it if it's still under warranty.

Many thanks. I will get the dealer to look at it, before it gets worse. Your suggestion is a great help. I am very grateful.

Being as we're both Devon based who's your dealer by the way?

Who do you go to? I would be interested. SMC Exeter have been good to me. I bought my dark "Indigo" blue Toledo TDiSE from them new at the very end of September 1999.

SMC also, they used to be right next to where I work until they relocated to Marsh Barton. They seem okay.
Just wondered about the other local(ish) dealerships, reading on here they do seem to vary on prices and service and I've got a cam-belt change coming up soon....

Unfortunately I don't actually know other local Seat dealers. SMC replaced my cambelt before and I found them perfect at the time. I feel they truly treat me as a valued individual which I greatly appreciate. I have known them individually ( most of them ) for years and they have been good to me. They have lent me almost brand new cars on many occasions which I very much liked. A Leon TDiS and then a Leon TDiSE, also a Toledo TDiSE which was also lovely to drive. The Toledo had Goodyear Tyres on it which gave a comfortable ride and excellent roadholding feel. The Leon TDiSE had Bridgestone which felt very hard ( it felt excellent on corners though). The Leon TDiSE had Dunlops like I have on my Toledo which feel quite hard ( not as hard as Bridgestone). They last a great deal longer than the Firestone which were on my car orrigionly. The Firestone gave a lovely soft ride though which suited me. Recently "AutoExpress" did a tyre test and Continental did best overall ( excellent in wet and otherwise they also did well) Dunlop had none of their newest tyres available. It was the 195 size they tested. A while before "Which " did a test on 195 tyres and the Dunlop won and I think Michelin was close behind. The Dunlop sport lasted the longest. As I said I have those on my Toledo.

My wife prefers County in Teignmouth to SMC. County don't open their workshop at all on Saturdays and SMC is on my way to the office, so I use them. I imagine Richrdsons are pretty good too - we're pretty lucky with the dealer choice we have by the sounds of it.

I saw though that SMC won some award. I am sure the others are excellent too. We are extremely lucky being near Exeter.

Croyde Motors come really well rated too, but due to the abnormally large county we have, you could be in the Midlands in less time than it takes to get to Croyde from Exeter sometimes!!!

I am always interested where the best workshops are.
