So I receive a PM about a post I made.

Is it wrong for me to publish that pm, along with a reply?

A mod message, or a member message?

PM = Private Message .. i.e. as it says private.

However if you want to cause some agro, hell yeah, go post it ;)

No, not a Mod message.
PM = private from the sender - does that mean that if you receive an intimidating/bullying PM, you should respect the sender's intention?

Any content of a PM should obey the same rules as the forum, as its an extension of this.

If you have an issue about a PM then contact a Mod, the sender or Admin. I can't see much purpose in publishing this on the forum unless you want to stir things

That's fine. I just needed clarification. Thanks, Andy.

don't hold out on us though.... we don't 'do' bullying (unless it's for comedy purposes)

I've had quite a lot of experience of tackling bullying in the workplace and from working with young people in care.

I'm personally of the opinion that bullying behaviour should be 'outed'. I think the mods here keep a strong lid on things. I'd recommend that anyone reading this in the future voice any concerns with the SCN team. Bullying and intimidating behaviour does exist in forums, chat rooms and texts.

We're ready for an outing - and I don't mean to the seaside at Brighton.

On a more serious note you are doing right to raise the question first and these things best go through the mods before it all backfires. That said, I think if the mods chose to name and shame it can be an effective measure in the right circumstances, but they are best placed to decide depending on the content of the PM IMO.

did you really have to use the words outing and brighton in the same sentence? skeggy would have been more appropriate:D

I think you did the right thing asking first.

It beggars belief though, what on earth was the person hoping to achieve

Banning's too good for them. Name and shame.
