Hello!
Seat Leon 20vt, has a k03 sport turbo (k03 with k04 case)
If you compare them, it seems the same turbo because both have the k04 case...
It's possible to install the k04 inside part to my turbo?
If yes, it will be cheaper than buy a complete k04 I think...
Theoretically it is, but not all K04 inside will fit. There are a variety of range of K04 types (even with different sized (diameter) compressors), which not likely to fit. The other problem is (as you wrote), these K03 ish K04s use the same shaft/bearing as the K03 and they don't really last long when used hard.
so wich is the bes/has the best charicteristics?
KO3
KO3 in KO4 case
KO4?
cheers
Depends on what you want to do ;). The most powerful is the K04 of course, but the most reliable/durable (still powerful) the K03 sport (K03/K04 hybrid).
ok, im guessin the KO3 is better for lowr down and the KO4 is better higher up the revs, so is the hybrid a 'best of both worlds' ???
and didnt sum1 just say the hybrid runs the KO3 shaft and so doesnt last long wen tooled about?
The hybrid runs fine with its own shaft (it's a K03 after all), but some of the K04-s has got the same (K03!) shaft and bearing which won't last that long as in original K03-s. There are bigger K04-s of course, but the direct bolt on K04-001 is baslically a K03.
ahhh, so the hybrin KO3/4 is the best:cheers:
Not the best, but it is more reliable than the K03 based K04s. That's all.
hmmmmm, so wot 1.8t did this come on?

180BHP standard. Codes are K03-05x (052,053,055,...)
cheers
so i take it the KO4 is on the 200+ bhp engines (audi TT 225 and seat R's)
