I was wondering if one of the Amethyst boy's could help me?
Ive ordered (2weeks ago) A SEAT Ibiza Cupra from holland. I know you get a year manufacturers warranty but i was wondering how much the 2nd and 3rd years are as i would almost certainly want to buy them.
Also i have read on another thread that SEAT have extended the manufacturer's warranty from 1 year to 2 on all cars.
Will this affect me?
Can you give me a quote on the 2nd and 3rd years (if i need the 2nd?)
Many thanks.
Extended warranty is cyrrently £149.00 per year including AA cover.
You are correct about the 2 year warranty - as far as i am aware from Jan 1ST 2001 all cars will have two years SEAT spain warranty so this will apply to imports as well.

JAN 1st 2002 'INNIT ?? :D
For imports, the 2 year warranty is effective from 1st November 2001. EU law specifies that all EU manufacturers must offer this by 1st Jan 2002 at the latest. Seat are just a couple of months early. So, if you register any EU import now then you'll get 2 years unlimited mileage warranty as opposed to the 1 years warranty that applied before 1st November.
UK supplied motors still come with 3 years warranty.

Graham,
I have heard that you can buy warentee extensions upto 8 years... I have the 3 year warantee I got with the car, but is it now too late to buy warantees for years 4 to 8, or can I do that when the 3 years are up?
Thanks,
Ben
SORRY i meant 2002
Yes you can buy warranty up to 8 years during the last month of the exisisting warranty
Cool, do you contact me at that time or do I need to make a note on the calendar?
Thanks,
Ben
Sorry Ben it's a note for the calender at the moment, trying to get our managment system to do it for us but not available yet.

Is the warranty for years 4 - 8 supplied by SEAT or a 3rd party company ???
