The engine is in parts and all cleaned ready for new rods etc.
I've taken the crank out so do I need new main cap bolts (some say yes others no).
What are the torque setting for the mains (i know the rods are 50lbft)also the crank pulley and flywheel etc. Well all torque setting would be nice if they are online somewhere :D

Will also be putting in new timing belt and water pump, shall I get a metal impeller or are the new audi plastic ones OK.

48 lb ft + 90 degree for the mains and yes replace them there stretch type only 85p each iirc.

Torque the rod bolts up to 50lbft at least three times and break them loose then install.

Minimivic,

I've got a manual you can borrow if you like - I used it to rebuild my engine, and I'm only just down the road from you in Sherborne.
