My PI springs have lowered my car far further than the 40mm stated and the shocks bottom out which is annoying me and my CD player!

Can I get some replacements that will do the job and not be too expensive. Most makes i can find only do the uprated shocks and they arent actually designed to work with lower springs. i could change the whole lot but why buy a full kit and have a spare set of springs!

Help....point me to some websites please!

I'm going to buy a kit and some springs so will have spare springs left over. Shortened dampers available from the usual Bilstein, KONI, KW, I wouldn't personally buy anything else.

If you want KONI I can refer you for a 10% discount - although I'm not 100% certain this is the lowest price.

Depends on your budget.

It is actually cheaper to buy a KONI kit and more springs than buying all the dampers in pairs and then springs.

Sounds cheap and nasty to me unless they're re-badged other ones.

FK Automotive make most of their stuff. Seems to me like FK is just a kit and the dampers are borrowed from another manufacturer (if they're on car damping adjustable they may be KONIs).

I've priced their kits up and crossed them off my list.

Bit of an unknown quantity to me really. I prefer to stick with what I know. Don't know of anybody running these kits apart from some Golf1 owners.

think people should research springs before parting with the cash. i had them quite a while back and they came back off inside 6 months because they were so bad,i put a report on here somewhere on a post, 40m more like 4 inches!!! eibachs are way better, thats what im running now! havnt dropped 1mm since the original 40mm in 8 months.

last thigh you want are 40mm drop spings ending up at 80mm with the bottom of the car scraping over every speed ramp !!

Just had a look under the Toledo this afternoon and PRC is right about there not being much room below to drop the car with lowered springs.

Looks like a shocks only upgrade plus bigger wheels and lower profile tyres !!

Thats the trouble with lowering springs with unmatched shockers they can cuase many ill effects, ditch the Pi's and get yourself a decent matched spring a damper kit if you want decent quality
