View Full Version : Belt Up!
Noticed a few weeks ago that the front ns seat belt wasn't retentioning properly.
So, I booked it into my local Seat dealer who looked at it and said they would order a replacement. That was 3 weeks ago - they now tell me it is on "back order" which means there are no parts of this type available in the UK.
Anyone had a similar experience? What can I do to speed things up a bit?

Ditto. Front ns seat belt didn't retract correctly. Took about 1 month if I remeber correctly. Didn't give them any pressure though cos I wasn't in a rush. I hate passengers anyway. Always trying to talk to me when I am trying to listen to my music. :D

Noggin,
I'm sorry but there is very little you or we can do. If the part is simply not released from the manufacturer, SEAT are unable to speed this up. No dealer would hold stock of this as pretensioners are only available for order and immediate fitting because of the explosive.

My drivers side seatbelt is doing the same. Part order in December, being fitted sometime this week...
Waiting time ~1 month seems about normal. Its not really a consumable is it?
Cheers

Rayko,
What do you mean by consumable?
Tim

not like = pasties, KFC, beer, wine or doner kebab with extra chilli sauce on dat... :p

K, it's not a consumable, yet because it contains explosives, I certainly wouldn't want it just lying about the department, and legally would have to have a special cabinet to hold it. I would guess the warehouse have the same thought, hence why it has to be manufactured and supplied to order and takes a month or so.

Cheers  for the advice....looks like I'll have to be patient.
Got me thinking about what HarryHarrisonn said - I could string this out and avoid having the missues saying "you're going too fast" at any speed over 30mph. Having said that she'll be able to see the speedo from the back (doh!). Guess I could drown her out with the stereo - now how much is the ejector seat upgrade?

The ejector seat is pricey, and cos it contains explosives.......
