Well, got round to fitting my front upper & lower OMP strut braces after work and to discover that the lower one did not fit on 2 counts
1) the tube on the wishbone pivot bolt fouled on the sump (although the brace is meant for a GTI) 2) its too F**king short:(

Upper one fitted ok except the self taper screws shear off when you tighten too much. Quality

problems aside went out for the blast and there is a considerable improvement cornering wise :)

P.S found this block of metal attached to the subframe that does diddly squat, any ideas whats it for?

Dunno if its me, but my steering feels alot heavier than norm since fitting the brace. Odd.

Sounds like someone at the local garage who swears he's got better mileage after installing one;)

You should get quicker turning response & possibly better cornering and it sometimes removes/rids annoying noises coming from the dash.

I can't explain why U've got heavier steering, it shouldn't be from the brace.

Fitted upper and lower braces to my GTI16V over winter and both fitted perfectly - lower one was exact fit and needed to go on parallel along both bolts at same time - its that close.

Mine feels better with them on - more direct somehow.

Ave it
