Hi there !
I'm a member of seat-leon.de (http://www.seat-leon.de).
Some of us have to change the front brake-discs and we thought about testing the Tarox G88(?). Looks really great but is here anyone who could tell me something about the performance ?
Would be great if you could help me !
Thanks a lot !!!

Some guys here have experienced these cracking. The consensus seems to be to use Pagid 8 or 16 groove discs.

Ed's right, there have been some stories about cracked disks. I think it was Bill (ibizacupra).

Yep... Angel of doom here (for some products)

I did'nt have much luck with Tarox G88 disks on my Ibiza Cupra. They cracked from the machined slots to the root of the disk in only 2000 miles. Pad wear is extreme with the slotted disks. They act like a cheese grater wearing the pad surface away very quickly.
They stopped well, but I don't expect performance disks to crack like this in such low service milage.

I changed to Pagid Fast Road grooved disks and these have proven to be fine and reliable.

My 2 penneth.

The sport japan disks on the corsa have small cracks on the drilled holes as well.

Besides as I've mentioned a few times before, I think the disks are not the weakest link. 1st I'd change pads and fluid.

@prc
Of course, pads and fluid will be changed too but the disks on my 20VT are completely down after 80000km so I have to change them in any case. My problem is now that i don't know what the best upgrade-disk is.

Well that would be Brembo 4-pots.... :p but I would say that as I sell em... :D

Pagid Fast Road pads combined with Pagid Grooved disks work well and are durable. ATE Power Disks also are pretty good, and work well with Pagid fast road pads.

I like to change the disks, not the hole brakes !:)
Where can I see a picture of the pagid disk ? I haven't found one yet.

Had my Pagid Discs off for an inspection & they've done well, no cracks, no damage, the grooves were a bit full of stuff, but that's the point

If it's the same 280x22 mm disc that fits VW G60, then the part number is 53950 for Pagid 8 groove disc.

Pagid are German I thought, so Maniac, they should be slighlty cheaper where you are. Front pair of these for £111.75

Maybe that they're cheaper here but i haven't found them yet.:(

I'm sure UK suppliers will export if you are desparate. The postage will be covered by the 17.5% VAT you can deduct.

EU members get to pay our VAT..
Non-EU members don't.

That right. I might add the 17.5% is much better than the 19% we pay;)
